Michigan Unemployment Office Locations

You can get much help with your unemployment claim. UIA (Unemployment Insurance Agency) has 7 Problem Resolution Offices (PRO) all through the state to assist workers in resolving issues they may have with their unemployment claims.

The offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and are located at:

    I’ve been calling every damn day hundreds of times for two weeks, NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE!!!! I have never collected unemployment ever and my taxes are going to be garnished because of an over payment of benefits in the amount of $1700 I don’t think so. I want some damn answers now!!! The website is an even bigger joke

    Hello, why doesn’t anyone answer the damn phone,EVER??? I personally think the phone line is a joke and not even operational!!! just like everyone else Ive tried numerous times and days and always get the same message as well …UIA must think we are all dumb!Ive been laid off for a month and haven’t received one damn payment yet because obviously something in my file is incorrect and I need a PERSON to assist me in my problems so I can get my money and SURVIVE!!!!..this is absolutely ridiculous!!!

      I can understand your frustration.Please note that we are not a govt. organisation.Perhaps,you may want to consider visiting one of the local offices to get an update.

    I have been on short term disability for 7 months,and my pay ran its course.i am still of work because my doctor has me on no work restrictions.and also my employer filled my position.I want to know am i eligible for unemployment.

    i called Marvin on my asigned day and was stopped when he ask for my 4 Diget code i have started my unemployment claim by phone i registered at Michigan works and do not remember setting up a 4 Diget code i have been trying for 2 days to get a hold of a unemployment rep and can not get a hold of anyone the system just keeps saying the lines are full call back later what should i do to to get this fixed i have no job and no money and 2 kids in my home that need food and personal items please help

      Check the Michigan unemployment website for alternate contact information. If they allow a fax – you could send your request that way be sure to include name, phone, & social security # on every page.

      Check any material you received in the mail – your code may have been printed on correspondance concerning your claim.

      While on the internet, check the Michigan Department of Public Welfare – apply for any benefits you’ll only get them if you qualify but it may help. Is there a government job center in Michigan? Perhaps this information was also on material sent to you when you opened your unemployment claim. These centers are great resources for so many things you may need – use of computers, office equipment, phones, public assistance contact information etc. Churches help people, there may be a food bank in your area…

    To whom this may concern I’ve been waiting on my unemployment I haven’t received anything yet? The representative told me it would take at least 6 weeks its been about 7 or eight weeks now.
