Florida Unemployment Phone Number

The Florida Department of Labor, formally called the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, is the organization you need to get in touch to make a labor complaint or file for jobless benefits. The State of Florida makes contacting the agency simple, and there are numerous ways to do so.

Contact the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation by telephone by calling 1-800-204-2418. The phones at the Florida unemployment office answer from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m, Monday through Friday.

Be set for long waits as lots of people are trying to do the same thing that you are. Be serene and courteous to the person you get connected to and you will get a lot more help. The staffers on the other line are over-worked and are everything possible they can to assist all of the people that are contacting them.

 When you call the PA unemployment phone number, ensure that you have:

  • Social security number,
  • Dates of employment
  • Names and addresses of your employers,
  • Gross earnings, and your
  • Driver’s license number

You will also need a pen and paper to write down your claim number and any other relevant details.

    My wife is trying to sign up for unemployment compensation. The company changed there name. Both are plc companies. She lost no time as this was only a name change. Now they want to know why she separated from the original company. She did not separate , the company changed names. What is she to do online to sign up ? Thank you

      Why don’t you call up the customer service of the labor dept in your state and explain? I don’t think this should be a major concern.

      They seem to have a rather sophisticated navigation on their website.

    Im a military wife we are stationed in Yokosuka,japan. I have been working for the past 3yrs at the US Naval Hosptial, and we have to PCS back to the states so I have to leave my job due to my husband transfer for military reasons, so my question is would I be able to file for unemployment?? All my records and taxes are from Flordia. And my next question is there a different process for me to file or the same as if I was in Flordia????

      Each state have specific guidelines on dealing with UI claimants from military background.

      Please check with the labor dept in FL to see how you can file. I think the gateway to application will be the same for all citizens.

    do you file in the state which the home office of the business you work for….I work in Jacksonville Florida…but the company’s home office is in Virginia

      Please check with your employer on where they file taxes.You may have to file from the state where your employer is based.

    Good Morining, My name is Allen Henderson. I am currently employed in good standing at a job in Orlando Florida. I have a father who is 85 years old and in falling health in Birmingham Alabama, my mother who is 76 years old is no longer able to care for him. If I have to leave Orlando, quitting my job here, to help care for my father would I be able to collect unemployment until I get a job in Birmingham Alabama?

    My unemployment claim from a lay off Oct 31, 2013 is still under review! I am now waiting for 10 weeks of what should have been eligible benefits, thank you state of Florida for doing a fine job in resolving this “issue”. I hope no one that works for the State of Florida Unemployment Office never has to file for benefits!

      Please note that we are not a govt. organisation or sponsored by any state.Whilst we understand the cause of expressing frustration here,you must follow up by phone or visit local labor office and raise a grievance regarding this.

      Please contact the claims center in your state for a copy of the form.We are not a govt. organisation and do not have access to these forms.

    My claim is being held up by employment verification when I was working for the govt on a contract to hire placement agency. All others have been verified. When I tried to call the 800#, I get the “You have a pending adjudication…” message. And they are ALWAYS in “high call volume” status, so I never get to talk to a person. Is there ANYTHING I can do to get this resolved???

    Having trouble with florida unemployment ,claims agent put claim on hold ,with for reasons he claims that I am unfit for duty, Stunned that an individual I do not Know can declare me unfit for duty. when documents from the labor union I belong to states other wise is this possible what recourse do I have if any regards OO…!

    How do I obtain a copy of my unemployment compensation file for my attorney.I have been charged with unemployment compensation fraud and grand theft of 5,000-7,000 but last year the irs made a payment to the unemployment office for 7,976 dollars and i need a copy of the reciept and my file for my lawyer.

      If your lawyer needs something from unemployment, he can contact them on your behalf. You might try going to the website, log in and see what claim information you can find and print it out. For example, there may be a tax document, a list of benefits paid.

      You kept my tax return last year and I need to know exactly how much you feel I was overpaid unemployment benefits so I will know when it has all been paid back from my tax returns. How do I find out this information since I have never even been notified that I owed the state any money for overpayment of benefits.
