  1. I am an employer. I find it very frustrating that persons who are perfectly capable of working can’t even show up for an interview. 9 out of 10 do not show up. The comments we’re hearing are, “it’s easy to get unemployment so I don’t need to work.” Years ago they had to show proof they were actively job seeking. Is this not the case anymore? Is there a place where we, as employers, can report persons who do not show up for their interviews? I have had four no shows this week!

  2. i am joseph e Bennett jr lost my fulltime job hyvee in Waukee iowa yetday for no reason they just fired me at work.i need money pay bills until my new job started

    • Joseph,

If you lost the job due to no fault of your own, please consider applying for Unemployment Insurance benefits until you find employment. An application can be made by phone or over the internet.

  3. Recently moved here to Sioux city from Laramie Wyoming and am needing to find out how to file unemployment from Wyoming?

    • If you left the previous job voluntarily, you will not be eligible.

Otherwise, please consider filing for UI benefits from the state where your employment was based.

  4. I received unemployment from two different states over the last year, but neither one sent me a 1099 form.
    What should I do?
    Don

    • Please visit the official websites for more information. Most of them have it available for a download from the site.

If you do not find relevant information, please call the Unemployment Office.

  5. I filed a claim but I have only received the debit card. How do I know if my claim went through?

    • Please check for messages in your e mail.

You can also get an update either by calling the claims center or by logging onto to your account online. Generally, it will take a couple of days for the money to credit the account after receiving the debit card.
