  1. I started my claim on 6/27/21. It’s now 10/30/21 and I still haven’t received a determination. There are 2 issues pending and every time I call I get the same answered. They are waiting for an adjuster to review the issues and they can’t tell me when it will be reviewed. The last time I called I asked to speak to a supervisor. The agent said that he couldn’t transfer me and I couldn’t talk to anyone else not have a supervisor call me back. It’s been four months!! Is there ANYTHING I can do to get this resolved??

    • Pat,

Though the situation is heading towards “normal”, the Unemployment Office might be inundated with pending requests. Please make sure to follow up at regular intervals.

  2. My ID I sent electronically was rejected with no explanation. I’m told I have to register with Id.me. Can I please just present my ID in person? I don’t know who ID.me is. It appears to a private company that wants to know too much about me. Why do I have to register with an outside private company and trust them with my personal data? Up until October I was working for the State of Massachusetts. Now the state is treating me like a criminal.

    • Mark,

Please research more on id.me. For all you know, you might be trying to apply through private sources/links.

  3. i am currently deployed overseas, i will be filing for unemployment when i return to the states.. how do i file when i get home, and are the buildings open for me to file in person?

  4. What is it called number to call to resolve a problem with your unemployment application if you do not have access to a computer

  5. Simple online process, right? So, why then at the very first step, creating a password and Security Question, after TYPING IN MY ANSWER, am I being told that the field is BLANK?! I followed all instructions for password and answer entries. Then, I wanted to schedule a call (finding contact info is a bear, should all be right on ANY page, but of course, no), and figured even if I call to do that before office hours, I could. Again, of course, no. Why are these systems always so terrible?

  6. I tried to call Sunday 11/4/18 for my first week on my new claim and the phone and website have been down. How do I get this started so I can start getting an income? Or when will the system be back up?

    • Robert,

Please visit the official website for notifications in this regard. If the systems are down, I am not sure if they will back it up. You can also call and speak to a representative if the phone systems are up and running.

  7. I filed my claim early October and still nothing. I check my claim online and it says pending , every time I call they always say the same thing “my claim will be processed in the order it was received” I lost my apartment im living on the streets , sometimes a couch when I get lucky. I need the money to get in my own spot this is crazy already I don’t know what to do, I’ve been trying to get a job somewhere it’s harder when your homeless

    • Mike,

We understand your situation. It shouldn’t have taken so long! Please consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity.

  8. I applied for UI on Oct 8th, it has been 15 weeks and I have still gotten no decision. I have called several times. Each time I am told that my claim is not being processed in their office and they are not able to see where my claim is being processed and by whom. My car has been repossessed, I am currently being evicted in 15 degree weather with nowhere to go, and I have exhausted everything I had in savings to live on over the last 15 weeks. How can I expedite this process? No one I have spoken to over the last several weeks has been able to give me any information at all. All I keep being told is that they are making a note and passing it on to their supervisor and it never seems to get anywhere. Resolution is imperative. Any suggestions or is anyone able to point me in the direction of someone who can actually produce results?

  9. I applied for benefits on October the sixth, checked with former employer, and they have not received any paperwork from u employment as of today, 11/10/2017. Is this a,normal progression of collecting my benefits? I’ve tried to call but can only get through to an automated phone line Did ask for a callback on 11/8 for 11/9, no call What c a n I do to expedite the process???

    • I have filed a claim on Nov 2oth, and have continued claiming each week on line I have 5 weeks stating on hold….. How long does this process take to recieve a check.

    • Judy,

You should also be able to check the claim status on the internet. Please visit the official website to access your account online and also to find additional phone numbers.

  10. My claim has been being paid since the beginning of May and last week was put on “hold”. I have a letter posted that asks me to update my earnings history and if I would like to request a hearing complete the paperwork. There is nothing to update, the records are correct.
I have called numerous times this week to find out what I need to do and have been on hold over 90 minutes each time and then disconnected. I drove to the Lowell office on Friday afternoon and no one was there?
The website does not allow you to write in a question or check a status??
    Please help.

  11. Good afternoon,

It has come to our attention that your website incorrectly listed the North Shore Career Center at 181 Union St. in Lynn, MA. The NSCC has not been at this location for many years and my organization, Lynn Community TV, currently occupies this space.

We would appreciate you removing this from your website, as we have multiple people a day come in asking about unemployment.

  12. Well after seven weeks of waiting and two calls to the governors office his claim is finally processed and we should see payment this week. Good thing is we are done with unemployment he has found a job and started today.

  13. My husband was let go from his job on March 19th. As of today (5/03/17) his claim is still pending. When he calls he is told there is a large volumn of claims and that his claim needs to go to a reveiwer and that it has not been assigned to one. How much longer can this take?

    • It depends on the volume of pending claim applications.

I suggest you speak to a representative from the Claims Center to get further insights.

  14. My husband in laod off ,he applied for unemployment benefits, every sunday he call put the hours, now is 6 weeks hes no get any money .

    • Please ask your husband to speak to a representative from the Claims Center for an update on payment status.

It should not take more than 7-10 working days to process the payment.

  15. I left my job I had for 5yrs in 2010, Since I Quit I never knew I could file for unemployment,..I know its going on to 4 yrs, I’m I still able to apply for benefits?

  16. I am an employer in MA and I was wondering if I could review files of past employees filing unemployment who I laid off. It has come to my attention that one of my employees could of committed fraud and i want to check their file before filing necessary paperwork on the fraud issue.

    Please call to discuss 781-572-6153.

    Peter J. Donovan

    • Peter,

Please note that we are not a govt. organisation. Please call the labor dept in MA immediately as you suspect fraud.

  17. I have applied for unemployment insurance on 12/30/2013. I am trying to complete the tele-cert questionnaire and can not access my account. It seems to be mixed up with a previous claim/account I completed over 1 year ago. How do I get to the tele-cert for my new claims submission? I have been calling all phone #’s of unemployment and can not get any help. I am concerned I will not be able to complete the questionnaire for this week. Please help as soon as you can.
    Thank you,

  18. I work and live in Massachusetts. My boss wants to lay me off due to lack of work, but would want me to continue to work one day a week. How would that affect my unemployment eligibility and/or benefits?

Could you calculate what my benefit would be? My quarterly income for the last four quarters was $15,191.

    Thank you,

    Jan Nubile
