  1. I tried to post yesterday and the system says my comment was being reviewed by moderators. Can someone please help me with the following?

I worked for a church for 4 years and I realize they are exempt from paying into the unemployment system. That would make sense why my claim was not paid under the Monetary Eligibility. However, I qualify under the Non Monetary Eligibility listed on your website. How would I proceed under these circumstances? Lastly, if I don’t qualify, is there any other form of financial assistance available.

    Thanks.

    • John,

The details provided on this site are indicative in nature. I suggest you refer to the info available on the Unemployment Office’s website in your state for accurate info.

  2. Hi-
I was scheduled a call from Unemployment 9/30/21 never received a call. I just noticed old number was on file. The hold up is questions regarding my schooling. I submitted a University letter stating I am enrolled full time under “upload documents.” How can I schedule a call back? Have been unemployed for a month already.

    • Hi I was scheduled for a interview but the never called me and they don’t answer my call either Don’t know what to do.

      • Bibi,

There will be a delay due to the pendency. Please continue to follow up from your end. You can call the claims helpline.

    • Billy,

The Unemployment Office will be inundated with pending requests. Please chase them proactively until a logical conclusion.

  3. Is there ever the ability to talk with a live person? I have been seeking assistance via the phone for well over a month via the numbers provided on the website and I can’t even get on the call back list that I was able to access last year. We need help! I am forever disappointed in the handling of Nevadan’s welfare by the lack of connectivity. In short, how can I guarantee the ability to speak to a real person? SOS.

    • Jaycee,

Please consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity if safe and feasible (you might be required to book an appointment prior to the website).

  4. HELP … I have been approved for 20 weeks of UI Nevada. I received two/three checks without any issues. I have continued to file weekly, emailed all necessary information needed, did my job searches but the last three weeks I haven’t gotten paid. I have been trying to get through to speak to a person since last Thursday. I tried for three hours each day last week (THUR & FRI). I started Monday at 8 a.m. and continued to hit redial until 7:45 pm taking only 1/2 hour for lunch. I cannot get through to talk to a person and just ask what is needed to resolve this issue. What can I do????

    • Cheryl,

The best way to manage your claim and raise issues will be online. You will need login ID and password as credentials.

      • I TALK TO PERSON AT UNEMPLOYMENT AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD ON MY ACCOUNT I FILLED OUT WEEKLY JOB SEARCH. WHEN I GO TO HOME PAGE IT SHOWS NO FUNDS IN ACCOUNT. • Donald,

I can understand your situation. There will be a delay considering the number of applications that are being processed. Please continue chasing the office/check your status online at regular intervals until payments normalize.

        • Donald,

Hope you were able to get to the bottom of the issue. Else, please try calling the Unemployment Office during non-peak hours.

  5. I lost my job in January. My employer challenged my claim. I was told I would get an alert on my UI homepage in the Smart Links section and an email about my hearing phone call and date to refute his claim. I never got an alert or email. At the end of May, I got a letter saying my claim was denied due to a claim of theft. I never got to defend myself against that BS charge. I had 3 days to write a letter and mail/fax it to the UE office. I wrote a letter, sent it certified, and faxed the letter the day before the deadline. I have yet to hear back from the UE office. I called the office and can’t get through. The automated message says the same thing (no agent avaialble) for every selection I choose, and promptly hangs up. What else can I do?

I had successfully corresponded with someone via email in May and June of 2020, but can’t get replies from them anymore.

    Please help!

    • Scott,

You can file an appeal that will be handled by an adjudicator. Please consider doing an appeal. Make sure to keep supporting documents handy.

  6. I have been trying to get thru to a live person about my issue. My I.D. has been verified but on the website it shows its still pending. there is no place on there for me to enter any info that i have been verified. I have been trying to get this issue resolved for over a month with no luck. Is there another number i have to call or email someone about this?

  7. I fail to understand how it is the fault, problem or responsibility of UI claimants to be forced to financially, mentally and emotionally struggle for completely unethical amounts of time simply because DETR & the Unemployment Offices are “short-of-staff” or “overwhelmed”. I believe the solution to that is HIRE MORE STAFF.

I will not accept such huge, negative disruptions to my life simply because these agencies are too incompetent, inefficient, unorganized, clueless, poorly managed and without enough competent oversight to function as they are meant to do so. That is not the problem of the People of Nevada and I hope additional lawsuits will come to pass against these agencies for the countless lives they have destroyed or impacted negatively for no other reason than incompetence and being “overwhelmed”.

Do anyone think The State of Nevada would be ok and have no problem if, say, I couldn’t pay my car registration because I was “overwhelmed” with life? Give me a break. The Nevada government needs to DO ITS JOB that we, the citizenry of the state, pay for and vote for! While I appreciate the small effort made to respond to concerns raised in these comments, such as “call at off-peak hours” and/or “they might be backed up with pending requests’, is a HUGE injustice and just another slap-in-the-face to all of those suffering from lack of financial resources because we can’t even contact the agencies we are required to in order to move forward with our cases. Since these agencies know the problems they have, how about they fix them? Does that concept elude the executives running these organizations or do they simply not care? It can only be one-or-the-other and since it is Nevada, I am going with both as the answer.

  8. Sam is just sending generic messages yu can’t tell me they are so short staffed that they can’t answer these questions look at the dates f them I’m not sure that the phones are that busy either even before the pandemic I had to call u.s. department of labor to get someone from DETR to get in contact with they are an insurance company not the government and insurance companies are in the business of taking all they can in and finding any loop hole to not pay any out that’s why the wording can be misleading in their questionnaires I’m about to be evicted if I do before I become homeless I will be departed and if I do I’m pretty sure it would benefit the people if I did something to get the attention that this piece of crap administrators deserve heartless f@&ks!!! I guess we will find out next week won’t we

  9. Yep I can’t believe it I’m about ready to get all of my utilities turned off here if I don’t get some assistance from these guys all I need is a refusal letter they refused my claim which is fine but now I need the refusal letter so that I can get assistance so that my power doesn’t get turned off.

  10. Five months now, hundred’s of phone calls have been told all is good DETR is going to call soon.
My internet just got shut off so I can’t file my weekly claim,, what do I do…
You have no idea the thing’s I want to say about how all this is being handled.
People need to be held accountable for their total incompetence. I lost my car and haven’t eaten in two days now.
Be patient and be nice… You can’t convince me that any state official gives a rats ass about any one of us.

  11. Why bother with a reply, nothing gets resolved!
I have no words after reading other people’s replies.
As in nothing more to add that has not already been said… Just need to speak to a human that can answer my questions about the 13-week Extention???

  12. That 888 number is disconnected. I received unemployment but never a debt card. The debt card costumer service center tells me my address is incomplete but it is complete on the UI website. What now?

I was already receiving unemployment and it exhausted so now i had to refile ive done everythi g asked of me and ive been waiting for almost 2 months now i can not get thru to talk to an agent so i dont know whats going on and why i cant get my claim resolved i need my unemployment fast no other income and have a newborn can someone help me plz

  14. I received an unemployment debit card although I never filed for unemployment. I’m nervous someone stole my identify and don’t know what to do. Have tried calling so many times. Voice recordings keep guiding me toward the website, but there is no information about what to do in the situation I am in. Suggestions?

  15. I’ve filed a claim yesterday, 12/15/20. At the end of the claim, I’m told to call a claim center “Your claim must be reviewed by DETR, please contact the Telephone Claims Center to submit your claim.” I’ve been calling for hours now, but can’t get through. The system says there is a callback feature to hold my place in line, but there’s no information on how to get on this callback feature.

Also, the resource hyperlinks do not work and are invalid.

  16. I am trying to call, cant get through. wasting full days on phone when I could be looking for work. no option for call back as stated on phone recording. I need to speak to someone about a Alternate Base Claim due to ineligible for standard base claim. I am running out of savings and need help now!

    • Peyton,

There might be no response due to shortage of staff. Please try to work it out online, on the department’s official website.

      • I originally filed my claim back in September it’s now December 18th and I still don’t know anything I’ve been evicted and I’m now homeless I was working up until my doctor told me to stop and self quarantine I have congestive heart failure as well as COPD I’m as high-risk as you can get if I get covid-19 I will die. Im 44 years old this is
not a joke to add to that stress I’m now homeless because I’ve been evicted because I can’t pay my rent every time I try to call to find something out same automated bulshit so basically when statistics say that Homeless are the highest at risk and I’m even double High because of my health there’s still no help there’s no concern this is a joke this whole system is a joke I will say it one time if I die of covid-19 my family is going to sue the hell out of Nevada and I hope they do because they have it coming. The government or me hierarchy of our society their number one job is to protect us exactly what would you call this?

        • I’m having the same problem. I filed in early November. It’s says my case is open online but I can’t get a told of anyone

  17. No callback feature, calls ending due to all staff unavailable, or the queue has reached the number of callers for the day. When is this asinine, incapable, non-responsive system going to be fixed? This is an absolute embarrassment and completely uncalled for. People are doing unspeakable or immoral things just to survive. I truly believe that all of us are unemployed waiting for some sort of news should have blocked all of the voting entrances and demanded change before a vote. What a disgrace!!!

    • Hello there, I feel your concern. I filed my original claim April 9th, 2020. System kept deactivating my claim, I had to reactivate my claim five times and I am still waiting on the unemployment from the beginning of the shutdown. Then my employer decided to dissolve my position at the end of October because it was best for them! Way to go CVC! So I continue to wait for something to happen. And I have lost track on the number of times I have called the unemployment number and nothing. After several months of waiting!!!! I have a family to provide for and I was the only one working! So disgusted beyond belief….-

    • I agree!!!!!!!!!! In order for me to get any payment I must talk to some one first. And The corp. that I do not want to say who they are at this time pulled some of the lowest level above the law B.S. on me that if I do not get to talk to some one at unemployment for the state of Nv., I will never get my money that I have coming to me. I have been waiting for 7-8 weeks. Henry c.

  18. I’ve been trying to get my claim backdated for weeks and it’s going to end up being months. How can I get ahold of somebody? And when I do will they backdate. The link does not appear online for me because at first I had an issue since mine is medical with my immune system Being compromised I couldn’t work with the pandemic. Will I get my back pay?

  19. Hi there I had the same problem and I just got through to unemployment and the lady said that when you open the EUC claim and then you file it tends to take a little bit longer for you to get that first deposit so I should have been paid like that Tuesday but I won’t get it till Saturday of the end of the week so basically it’s about a week behind it but it’ll catch up hope this helps you

  20. So all of my UI benefits have been exhausted and I received a letter in the mail saying that I qualified for the PEUC program for 13 weeks I want onto the website I signed up for and I received a letter in the mail With no information on there just the notice of monetary determination that’s it there’s really no information on there so when I went back onto the website to see if my claim is pending it shows that it’s open it shows a remaining balance but there’s no other information I’ve been calling the unemployment department for four days starting at 7:50 in the morning until the evening time no one picks up When you call the unemployment department they say that there is a option for a call back but there’s no option At all and what makes this really bad is the fact that they were telling people if you sign up for the PEUC there’s no waiting period so I’m thinking that I’m gonna be getting my weekly benefits like I was before because I signed up for it and I know that I’m eligible for it I didn’t receive a dime there’s no information that tells you how this program really works there’s no one to explain to you how that program works I’m fed up to the point where I don’t even know what else to do because bills are piling up rain is almost you and I don’t know if I was approved I denied it just shows me that That my claim is open but it doesn’t show if there’s gonna be any payments I’m gonna be receiving soon there’s no information every two minutes I’m calling the unemployment department and nobody’s picking up so it seems that I understand they’re short staffed but I feel like people who are in dire need should not have to pay the price of the fact that the unemployment department is shortstaffed that’s not fair I don’t know what else to do I’m almost on the verge of just giving up and just saying who cares I’m afraid that I might end up losing my apartment because of this crap

  21. Trying to get thru to find out how to do an in person I’d check from out of state. My debit card number was compromised but was luckily stopped by BOA before any money was lost and have a replacement card and the account opened up again with BOA but now says online that status pending an in person id check from bpc and I have called and even emailed staying my issue was resolved but can’t get an answer.

    • Andy,

Please block your card immediately and wait for help. The Unemployment Office might be inundated with pending requests.

  22. Hello, I need to know why I have not gotten my benefits.. If I filled it out wrong I need to know so I can fix it! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

    Thank you
    Amy Johnson

    • To whom this may concern,
I filed my PUA claim on March 15, 2020 received my eligibility benefits statement on May 30, 2020. to date I have not received one dime of my $11,505 benefit that it says on the website is awarded to me.

      • Scott,

I can understand your situation. There will be a delay considering the number of applications that are being processed. Please continue chasing the office/check your status online at regular intervals until payments normalize.

    • Amy,

Please note this is a private forum and we do not have access to your claim file. Please check the claim status online/call the Unemployment Office.

      • My wife has been filing for her unemployment for almost a year. Said in was approved and in progress for months. Today she got a notice it was filed from outside the united States as a reason it is denied…??? Yet we live in Las Vegas and have never moved and are currently living in the same home for 8 years

      • What hell are you doing to help us recieve our unemployment benefits ? I read all the questions and all your answers are the same generic answer , that theres a delay and to continue to wait wait wait !
It’s been 2 months and I ve certified all my payment weeks and all i see is “in progress ” I called and talked to a representative she ask for my social security card which I sent in and then she said she was gonna move my claim forward for another level …….. I dont have time to wait anymore , I’m losing my home starving my family , and need help not excuses .
Please help me get my payments released and funded to me asap. The money is for the people to survive not suffer………Richard cross

        • Richard,

I can understand your situation. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do as this is a public forum. Best wishes!

      • Hi,
I filled for my unemployment over a month ago and it still says pending. I have yet to receive any benefits and need assistance on fixing my claim but no one answers the phone or responds to any emails I send. Does anyone have advice on what I can do?

        • Morgan,

There will be a delay considering the pendency. Please continue chasing the Unemployment Office until payments normalize.

  23. I filled out the EUC as I had exhausted my benefits. It asked what the separation was and I put mutual because I thought it was the best way to explain it. However, the first time DETR reported I quit in leu of being terminated. I realize now I should have put quit. I can’t get ahold of anyone by the Unemployment number. I don’t know what to do as my claim is pending upon receiving the separation documents.

    • I cant get through to unemployment either, ive been trying for a week. They refused my claim, now im at their murcy to get a copy of the refusal letter, so that i can get assistance so that my utilities dont get turned off

    • Heather,

Please try to resolve it online by logging in to your account. You may be allowed to update/upload documents.

  24. The NV unemployment number says it has a callback option to hold your place in queue, but then provides no number to press for a callback. Filing online results in a message saying I have to file over the phone. I tried contacting the email as well. What should I do?

    • I need help.!!!
Apparently my claim has gone dormant. I need to reactivate my claim.
However….. I can not.. get thru to speak to someone. Can you please direct me to the correct phone number.

      • Sam,

The call back system isn’t working. My UI claim has sent back in March. How can I get some help with my claim.

Please help! I’m really hurting! Please Please someone help!

        • Jed,

I can understand your situation. There will be a delay considering the number of applications that are being processed. Please continue chasing the office/check your status online at regular intervals.

  25. How do you get the call back feature option? Was unable to get through for over several months, in a desperate attempt for any answer as to why claim hasn’t paid, spoke to the help desk. They informed there was a spelling error on my name at some point but they could do nothing about it. Still trying to get through to someone who can, being able to get the call back feature as an option would help.

    • James,

They might not be able to call you back due to a shortage of staff. Please try reaching out during non-peak hours.

  27. Eric Tomas did you fix your errror i got same program like you been trying for over 4 days now i have no luck..

  28. I also tried to contact DETR for 2 weeks and my claim says incomplete because ive been directed to contact DETR. Like we need another option. There are none onlinehi

  29. I too have been locked out of my online account when attempting to file through the website. A message pops up advising me to call the Security Help Desk. Which, I have been trying to do for for four days. Even when calling at 8 am an automated voice message states the que is already full for the day. All the responses I’ve read on here to concerns like mine are advising people to go online…BUT WE CAN’T. WE ARE LOCKED OUT. Can someone please help.

  30. I filed my claim online but it said that I need to call and speak with somebody. I’ve been trying for days and right away at 8am the automated message says the que is full for the day and no further calls can be accepted. What do I do?

    • Becks,

Please try finding answers online since there might be limited phone support due to the shortage of staffing.

  31. STOP TELLING PEOPLE TO USE THE WEBSITE!! There are clearly issues that are not being fixed by, “visiting the website” or “logging in to change x, y and z”. Short handed or not, calling the number and getting the message, “we have reached the maximum number of calls for today, please call again tomorrow” at 10am is beyond frustrating.

When I log into the website, I get an error. It tells me to call the unemployment number and reference number. There is literally no other option. THE WEBSITE gives me a reference number for the issue and NO OTHER OPTIONS except calling the number.

Is there someone I can email to talk about my error, I’ve been calling for over 2 weeks. As an example, yesterday, (March 25th, 2020) I called 51 times beginning at 8 am. I got through twice, hung up on once and got caught in a phone tree on the other.

  32. i tried to apply and this is the massage that its giving me:

“Your claim must be reviewed by DETR, please contact the Telephone Claims Center to submit your claim”

There is no possible way to contact anyone from this “phone center”

What do i suppose to do

    • Gergo,

  33. I tried to set my profile. At the end it stated that an error occurred and that I had to call the help desk. There was no option to reset/fix the issue and I can’t create a new account due to existing info.
When I try to call both login help line or technical help line I can’t through or if I rarely do, then states that the representatives are busy then hangs up. I’ve tried sending an email a week ago with no reply.

    • YK,

The phone lines will surely be busy due to the onslaught. Please keep trying until they fix the online systems.

  34. Question. Will we get benefits for the week we couldn’t file because it’s telling us the claim has to be verified by DETR? We need that money, we can’t lose for something that was not under our control. People don’t have the luxury to wait.

    • Pablo,

As long as the claim was registered, you will receive the monies. Please follow both state and national news for updates.

  35. I have been trying to open up an existing claim that is 10 years old and I don’t remember ny user name or pin. I have tried and tried and tried but the online site says there is a problem wiyh my account and I need to talk to a representative. I have been trying the phone lines for 2 weeks and cannot get a live person to talk to. Please help me.

    • I applied for unemployment on 03/18/20. I answered yes to the question about recieving vacation pay . I answered yes because the casino where I worked currently laid us off due to the Coronavirus outbreak I was advised to filed my ui claim and to let them know if I have vacation time coming. So I did. Now the system keeps denying my claims because it thinks that a have deductible Income every week that I filed. I tried fixing it but it’s in vain. I tried calling the number and it says the que is full everyday for the past 2 weeks. This is ridiculous.. the answer to all of these comments is we are short of staff.. hired more especially if your websites keeps crashing down. What do you expect us to do.? There is money to give the President said it. You guys opted to do it thru state not thru do it federal and the President said it better you guys dont have the men power or the technology to do it.

  36. I have tried to file online multiple times but it continues to say “Your claim must be reviewed by DETR, please contact the Telephone Claims Center to submit your claim.”
I try calling every morning but the line is busy or the wait list is full. What should I do?

    • Mary,

You may not be able to get through due to severe short staff at the Unemployment Office. Please wait to hear from the authorities.

  37. My employer CLOSED due to the COVID19 pandemic. Initially I was told to file as “Leave Of Absence” since the company referred to it as a CCLOA. But after some time, they realized UI would only provide under the term “Laid Off”. Well I am not able to change my claim online and the phone lines are constantly tied up. I should have been paid this week, but the file was not paid because my status is “EMPLOYED”.

I need someone, anyone, who can please adjust my status to “LAID OFF” because the company is closed. I am NOT “employed”. I have attached some information my employer provided showing that I did not have any clock-ins during the week I claimed and was denied due to employment. I have also attached a letter from the general manager announcing the company closure. Please help me in the matter. Thank you.

  38. How do I reset my password for the online system? The online system doesn’t allow me to, I can’t go into the office (obviously) and I can’t get anyone on the phone?

    • Kayla,

Have you tried doing this after logging in? You should be able to find an option. Please search for it thoroughly.

  39. I have been trying to call them but to no avail. This is getting frustrating and I don’t know what else to do. How is this possible? I have been laid off and bills will soon start pilling up. Let us file the claims and then call us. Everybody wins.

  40. I filed a claim and put the wrong answer for physically and mentally able to work. I corrected it when they asked and for the reason why, I read the question in error, it did not get corrected on their side. They sent me a a form for the doctor to fill out but I am fully able to work, my job was shut down because of the virus. I’ve been trying to get through via telephone but have not luck. Can you tell me what I can do to correct this, I support myself and desperately need money for food. Thank you in advance.

  42. We have been trying for a week now, by phone and and online over 300 times. Phone lines always busy, online is telling me that I am not authorized to login because I forgot my password. I couldn’t remember and directed me to call a couple numbers. These lines have been busy from 8 am until closing of the day or If I do get in it tells me que is full for the day. 43. Dear Sam,

Where is the nearest physical office. I live in Reno. I spent 3 days 8 hours each trying to get through. I don’t understand why so difficult. I know you are bombarded with phone calls but I’ve been getting on the phone by 7:59 a.m. and by 8:03 the queue is full. I don’t get it. Three days in a row and unsuccessful. How do I get on the call-back list. The recording doesn’t give me any instruction it only tells me that its an option but it doesn’t tell me how to get on the call back feature. Please help. Both properties I work for are closed due to the virus outbreak. Please help. Why is this so difficult. I’ve paid into unemployment insurance for years and now I can’t get any help.

  44. I have been trying to get a hold of someone for two days because i forgot my password to do this all online and i can’t get into the que. is there anyway i can speak to someone.

    • I applied weeks ago and it says that school is the reason my payment is delayed; however it is not an issue that can delay any work or anything related. It says an amount that I can receive weekly however it says 0 in the amount paid. I am wondering how much longer it will take to get paid. No one is answering calls.
