I first applied for unemployment, Jan 17.. i was denied and had a hearing and it went in my favor, h0w long will it now take, and will i get all that 11 weeks of back pay? the website said my one week waiting period started April 4. that was 4 days after hearing went in my favor..will i get that back pay? Or are they staring it like new from now so my first payment will only be for the 2 weeks?

My OC was the week of may 10th, 2010 …
my 26 weeks ends this month
I’ve been searching everywhere … I cant get a representative on the phonen when I call … I cant find any info online to actually APPLY for an extension.
Does anyone know if you have to actually file an extension via a online app or over the phone or what ?

I try to claimed my benefit but the system inform me to file a new claimed n I am trying since Monday by the phone # keep knocking me out n say that I should call again this week which I am doing all week please advice

I just tried to file an umemployment claim and *argh*! I kept getting the run around between two phone numbers. The website said I couldn’t file online until I called one phone number. Calling that number got me referred to another phone number that then referred me to the previous number. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to file a new claim.

I think they should hurry up with this extention! people in the ny state area are having problems with keeping up with their bills. we are having shut off notices from national grid, verizon, and getting behind in car payments, rent, mortage, doctor bills, credit card bills and so on!!!!!! we NEEDDDDD our unemployment extention!!!!! we did not ask to lose our job!!! we also NEED TO EAT!!!!! WHERE will we get the money if there are NOOOOOO JOBS in NY STATE !!!! who will feed us, and shelter us and keep us from losing our car!!! we EARNED EVERY PENNY OF THE BENEFITS!!!!! WE DESERVE TO GET THEM!!! WE PAY into the SYSTEM so GIVE BACK TO US!!!!!

BIll – I think the maximum number of weeks allowed is 72 in NY. You should be able to renew after you exceed your first 20 weeks.
