Can the NY employer decline paying unemployment since I left there for the NJ job?. I am only at the new company in NJ for 3 months and they just announced our buidling is being closed due to an acquistion - I will have 6 months when they close. Will I receive unemployment payments?

An employer can only influence the particulars of a claim with them. Did you have a written job offer before you left the old company? That will help. Even if they find you ineligible because you quit, you only need to earn 6x the weekly benefit rate you would have received to clear the disqualification.
