The Georgia Department of Labor manages the unemployment insurance program in the state for individuals out of work through no fault of their own. Employers may pay a severane to employees in lieu of a notice for termination.
Georgia does not consider severance earnings, and you should report it to Georgia Department of Labor when filing the initial unemployment claim.
