Be prepared for long wait times because many people try to get through someone who can assist with unemployment claim questions. Even though it’s frustrating to wait so long, be polite to the person you get connected to and they will help you in every possible way.
How can call center agents help?
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment call center phone number is 303-536-5615, and it can be reached from Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM.
Call center agents are available to help with your unemployment claim, navigating the MyUI+ website, and any specific problems or questions. For example, you can contact the call center if you entered incorrect personal information when you submitted your Colorado unemployment application. Or, if you made a mistake when filing your Colorado unemployment weekly claim.
While call center agents work hard during open hours to provide customer service and answer any questions you may have, please note that the call center has a very high daily volume of callers. You may experience long hold times or a busy signal. If you have trouble getting through to a call center agent, please hang up and try again later.
Many questions about the Colorado unemployment insurance program can be answered on ColoradoUI.gov and the UI Daily Dashboard. Please see if your questions can be resolved on one of these pages before attempting to call an agent for assistance.
Also, please note that you do not need to contact the Colorado unemployment call center phone line for any of these reasons:
- Report Colorado unemployment fraud, including identity theft. A fraud alert should be reported using the form on ColoradoUI.gov. There is a separate form for an individual fraudulent unemployment claim and employer fraud.
- Ask for a copy of your 1099-G tax form. You can do this on ColoradoUI.gov.
- Address a Program Integrity Hold on your account. Instead, fill out your Program Integrity Holds form on the website.
- Questions about your employer account. The call center cannot address these questions. Here is the Colorado unemployment phone number you should call instead:

Information to have ready when you call:
Before you call a Colorado unemployment phone number, be proactive and gather all the information you will need to provide. Have all the information you may be asked to give right in front of you before calling so that you can avoid having to scramble for the information during the phone call or being forced to call again later.
Here are some examples of relevant information and documents you should collect prior to your phone call:

Sometimes, issues with your Colorado unemployment insurance benefit problems cannot be solved over the phone. For assistance with filing a new claim, accessing your claim, or any technical support questions that can’t be answered over the phone or online, you can schedule an appointment to meet with a Colorado Department of Labor and Employment representative at the Unemployment Insurance lobby.
You can request an appointment on the CDLE website. Once you use the tool to request your appointment, you will get a phone call or email to schedule it.
The online tool to request an Unemployment Insurance lobby appointment is different from the tool for scheduling an in-person ID.me appointment. If you need to set up an ID.me appointment, schedule a callback with the Virtual Agent or choose from the list of Colorado unemployment phone numbers. A representative will call you to schedule your ID.me in-person appointment.

Alternatively, you can also use the telephone in the Unemployment Insurance lobby to schedule an appointment to talk with a Colorado Department of Labor and Employment representative.
After you request an appointment using the telephone, you will be emailed important instructions. Make sure you read the instructions thoroughly and follow all of them or else you may not be admitted to your appointment.
Please note that walk-ins are not allowed. The Unemployment Insurance lobby is not open to the public. If you do not have an appointment, you will not be allowed to enter the building.
Services Available at Colorado Workforce Centers
A variety of employment services are available at every Colorado Workforce Center. These services are entirely free of charge and open to anyone receiving Colorado unemployment benefits. They are there to help you with your job hunt and becoming reemployed.
There are many resources at your disposal to help you find a new job while getting unemployment compensation. Staff is on hand to help you find suitable work, create a plan for reemployment, fulfill your Colorado work search requirements, develop interviewing and resume writing skills, and more.
Here are some examples of employment services you can take advantage of at your local Colorado Workforce Center:
- Career Counseling: Expert counseling staff are available to evaluate your experience, education, and skills to guide you toward finding suitable work.
- Job Training: Some Colorado Workforce Centers offer limited classroom and hands-on job training or funding to help you afford an external training program that will lead to you becoming employed.
- Job Board Listings: There are job opportunities posted on the online job board as well as in-person at Colorado Workforce Centers.
- Job Recruitment: Employers often hold job recruitment events to find workers.
- Job Referrals: After assessing your skills, education, and experience, you can get a staff referral to apply for a suitable job.
- Free Computer and Internet Access: Colorado Workforce Centers are equipped with computers, printers, phones, high speed internet, and more technology devices that you may need to use as part of your work search.
- Tax Credits and Training Reimbursements for Employers: Employers who work with Colorado Workforce Centers to find and train new employees can get tax credits and be reimbursed for any training costs. This incentivizes employers to hire talent from within the Workforce Center.
When you visit a Colorado Workforce Center, you can choose self-service or get assistance from Colorado unemployment staff, depending on your own needs and preferences.
What an absolutely frustrating joke this is. Its been nearly 3 months and no payment. Countless calls with convoluted answers that contradicted the answer or information given previously. How are people supposed to live when their unemployment benefits haven’t kicked in over 3 months. What an absolute insult as an employee, tax paying citizen and human being. I cannot believe the level of incompetency on so many levels. I can barely speak to someone, let alone get a straight answer. I don’t know how much longer I am supposed to keep waiting for my money and claiming it every week, only for it to be denied for reasons I cannot get a valid explanation on.
My faith in this state has gone down the toilet. I cannot believe the level of frustration I have for this situation. Bordering on homelessness because the state can’t give me an accurate answer. Today, I keep getting hung up on as their phone system seems to be having issues. Its always something.
Have received a notification that I have correspondence to answer, but when I log in, the account is locked and there is no way to view the correspondence. A phone number is given on the account where it says it is locked, but nobody answers the phone. When I call customer support, the virtual agent does not know how to help me. I called the Program Integrity Hold line and it’s disconnected or disabled. It’s been three weeks trying to get someone to answer my calls or emails to figure this out, never had this kind of trouble with MyUI before. :/
Hi, Jake – this sounds super frustrating. Here are a few other numbers you can try. Maybe start with the UI benefits call center, which is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The numbers are Denver Metro: 303-318-9000 or toll-free: 1-800-388-5515. It looks like it’s a different line from the customer support line, so you may have better luck. Or you could try the main number for the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment at 303-318-8000.
Had a fraudulent claim made on my SSN and now when I need to file my own claim, I can’t. Filled out all the required forms and spoke with an agent, but still ahve been waiting for my account to be cleared so I can make a claim. It has been months and I am at the end of my healthcare coverage so I need this claim! I can’t seem to get anywhere with this or speak to anyone since my callback 4 weeks ago. I’m beyond stressed.

I received the pandemic unemployment in 2020.They ran out in Dec 2020.I was eligible for extended benefits in Jan 2021.I filed and put in my weeks then was told I needed to verify my ID.,since covid 19 restrictions were in effect it was 3 month wait to get into the DMV to get an ID .4Months to get a birth certificate.I live with other people who were stealing my wallet and had so many problems like my phone also being stolen twice and that number was tied into my verification with ID ME process.15 months later I finally get my ID verified and then I am now under investigation for what I do not know nor will they telle why.I am not able to call the investigation unit.I have done no wrongs and have followed all the instructions .I talked too two representatives that said my paperwork looked good.18 months later and loss of all my possession s about to be homeless I still have no answer or money.I just put my hands on my face n want to just give up .!! What can I do?
Michael – it can certainly be frustrating to navigate this process, but don’t give up. Most state unemployment systems have been inundated with requests and are not staffed appropriately to handle them all. Keep trying until you can get through.

I was receiving benefits through May of 2021. My state benefits were exhausted on the last week of May. I did not know this at the time. I was denied that week because there were no funds. I became employed on June 1, 2021. I called in to see about the Jumpstart program. I spoke to an agent and let them know that I was needed to apply for the Jumpstart program. I also explained to him how I lost out a week of funds at the end of May. He explained that I could reapply for the funds with the additional funding from the Federal Government. In order to do this he would need to reopen my claim. I let him to this. He then stated I could reapply for the missed week. However, when he reopened my claim to get the back funding, the CDLE system took it as I was no longer employed. I can’t reach anyone that can fix this error. Additionally, I could not reapply for that week and was later told, on another call, that I would have to appeal that week and that was sent out to me. I never got any information to that effect. So now. I am still employed my the same employer and need someone in authority at CDLE to fix my Jumpstart in order to be paid. Can anyone there help? I have tried many times and the virtual assistant keeps stating, “There are no call back times available”.
1) I was given a penalty for “overpayment” and gave bank access to pay the $5000 fine. CDLE took $2100 extra and never told me about the overpayment. I have been calling several depts for 6 months and nothing has happened. Promised calls that never come, pay that never arrives. I have been consistently passed like a hot potatoe ending with no resolution. How can I get a person who has credentials to fix this???
2) Back pay – I submitted the back pay form and it took 6 months for a response (that I called in to verify) only for an instant decline. I NEED SOMEONE WHO HAS AUTHORITY TO REVIEW MY ACCOUNT!!!

Is there any way to contact someone from CO Unemployment? I tried their regular claims line (303-813-2800) and it says their system down due to system maintenance, and to go online instead. I tried their pandemic claims line (303-536-5615) but it gives a continuous busy signal sound. I tried the Colorado Dept of Labor and Employment (303-318-8000) but when you select Unemployment, it says no human is available. When you go to try to schedule a callback, or schedule an appointment via the online site, it is all blocked off/unavailable. I didn’t receive my tax form, through my online account, or in the mail. And yes, my address is correct and yes I looked on literally every page in my online account – three times over – and it’s not in there. I need to contact them! Some of us need to file our taxes before February 12th.
I cannot get any type of help with my account. It has been locked and I haven’t received any of my benefits yet going on 2 months! I have called everyday to different numbers trying to get any kind of response! All I get is to schedule as non-schedulable callback/appt. I have verified that it isn’t fraud through IDme, but still no help. I’m about to lose my apt. If anyone can help me please do! I had been receiving my unemployment regularly, then all of a sudden, this week, my check is on “payment hold” status. I have called and did get through to a live person once who told me to call the other number to schedule a virtual call back. I did this, but the call back isn’t until Jan 28th. I truly need this money before then.
Both my and my husbands regular unemployment accounts say “payment hold”. Unable to get a hold of a live person and call back isn’t until 1/28/2021. i filed a claim In july of last year. My Colorado pandemic unemployment online account has been locked since July 18. The site says I can unlock my account by resetting my password. I literally have done so roughly 80 times before just giving up all together. It states your account is locked. Call customer service. I have called, emailed, cursed, sent smoke signals, and broken three phones trying to get ahold of someone. The stupid virtual assistance scheduled me a call back…five months after july December 8th at 11 a.m. the sceduled apt was the day. And not a damn call came. its like putting food in a starving dogs food bowl, and shouting eat, and when he tries to eat the food he is beaten to shit. Then the process is repeated till the dog limps away seeking food else where ( and a new master.) I literally have given up on a $8,600 payment because the damn shits a joke. And now probably will have to if I ever receive the damn money go and take anger management classes and yoga, and pay for a table top sand garden to fix all the stress and ptsd the damn shit caused me. I hate my life now, im so broke I cant even afford to pay attention. I swear the next person who ask me or says the words “pandemic Unemployment” I will carry them to a cliff and drop kick them so far away Joe Montana would be shouting my name and EA Sports will scratch Madden and put McMullen in its place forever. So be it. And alexa- find me the nearest bar, a jazz bar preferably.. And play some soothing shit on my return back from where ever that may be.

I am an unemployed Clergyman. I filed for the PUA Benefits and was found eligible. The week of June 16th, there was a big news article about the unemployment pandemic scams and there were 5800 accounts frozen, mine being one of them. I provided verification of the Church including the FIN. I believe all the necessary documents are on file with the SOS, I also have called the specific PUA Hotline and spoken with Natalie a CO Unemployment Agent whom stated my file was under review. This is week #5 without a word from the unemployment division despite my file says a letter was mailed from Unemployment on 6/19/20. I also haven’t received any weekly benefit, why?

I filed for unemployment after my last day of work March 20, 2020. My claim was accepted and I was issued a pin number and was told my first date to call in was April 12, 2020. I was taken to the hospital the night of April 7 and got back home May 29. For some reason there was 1 payment deposited in my account on April 10. My status on my unemployment page say inactive. I need to re-open my account but cannot do that online. I have tried. So I need to speak to someone at unemployment. However, I have spent hours and hours on the phone and every time I get the recording that says due to the high volume of calls they are unable to take my call and to call back. What is a person supposed to do? This is rediculous! I know there are many people out of work but there should be a better way to handle this.

My benefits were put on hold 3 weeks ago as the ppu ended. I was receiving everything normally, then received 1 payment for the 200 dollar per week, as it says i would receive until employed or it ended the following year. My boss is closing his business so therefore I no longer have a job. I have been employed with him since August 2017 and my last day with him is 03/26/2018. I noticed that unemployment asks for what looks like 3 years of employment. I quit my last 2 jobs for better pay will this hurt my claim from my current employer?

In most cases, it’s only your last job that matters. If you’re being laid off due to involuntary reasons, you can be eligible to claim Unemployment Insurance benefits. Please consider applying.

I was laid off due to a reduction in force 12/6/17. I received my last paycheck week ending 12/15/17. Starting 12/16/17 I will receive severance pay for 16 weeks. Can I file for unemploiyment as of 12/16/17 or do I have to wait until the severance pay ends?

I have called the inquiry call center line, the CUB line, and the appeals line to try and find out why my payment wasn’t issued to my card. I’ve been hung up on 7 TIMES and never once transferred to an agent. I CANNOT get anything I need done through the automated system. Everytime it says I need to talk with an agent, I get hung up on or returned to the main menu without the option of talking with an agent.
I MUST talk with someone to get my question answered, it’s not available online or in your FAQ. Who can I call? How do I reach someone? Can someone just call me?

I’ve been an operations supervisor for 8 years and have been dating the secretary for 11 the manager that promoted me knew about us as well as every manager since. I was just informed that it was not acceptable and am now being demoted as well as take a pay cut.

I live in Colorado springs and I’ve been working for 3 months. Recently, my schedule changed and going to see if there’s another shift and I’m not sure if they may fire me for possibly not being able to work the new shift. Firstly, if they fire you due to voluntary reasons, you will not qualify. Do check the Benefits Calculator to ascertain the eligibility. The tool considers the recent most base period.
I just started my claim yesterday via telephone and was told the closest work center to me was on Speer. Good thing I didn’t go there because I found out it is closed (after calling the Federal work center). Please tell your employees not to recommend this center and take it off of your website. I am filing “Job attached” unemployment. When I did the estimator it showed that I would be paid less if I claimed before 12/30/2015. My question is, if I claim now 12/7/15 and it takes 4-6 weeks to get approved and then 1 week for a waiting period, I will be after 12/31/2015. Will I get paid the higher amount that was showing if I waited until 12/31/15 to get the claim started? I can wait until 1/1/16 to receive my first check, but if it takes 4-6 weeks plus a waiting week, I need to file now. Just want to know if I can get the larger amount of money because I will not be receiving a check until January.

It may or may not affect your unemployment. When you complete the actual application there will be questions that help determine what impact (if any) a pension payment will have on your benefits.
Please help me change my tax withholding on my claim. Since the beginning, i have had federal and state taxes taken out each time. I believe enough taxes have been take out for the year. I wanted switch to having NO taxes taken out.
The first time I attempted to make this change on the self service myuiclaimant site, I thought I had changed it, but after saving my selection, it did not show a change. A few days later I checked and it still showed the change I had requested had not been made. I made a second attempt and waited a few more days. After checking, i saw no change was made, it still showed federal ansd state taxes being taken out. Last night I tried again to make this change and the drop down menu blocked me from trying!
