Ok, my daughter worked 2 1/2 years in retail the store closed went out of business. Filed unemployment claim end of January received paperwork when to claim benefits, etc. Go to claim can't recall exact message, cannot be processed something like that, continue to claim no benefits received finally get letter about phone interview which takes place in March after the interview she receives 6 wks of benefits claimed but not received until after interview. Continue to claim then received notice invalid monetary determination, insufficient base year earnings and want her to pay back $1300. Mind you she is only 18 this was not her fault Appealed denied second appeal filed in June six Months later get notice of another phone hearing what do we do? I can't understand why she should have to pay back, why wouldn't she be entitled to it? And NJ unemployment made the error. Had phone interview why wasnt it determined then?
