    Hello,

My husband was on disability from 12/2013-11/2014. The job he was on prior to that was over (he is in construction/works for Union) and he has not been able to get work since the end of his disability. He filed for UI with CA EDD and just got his notice of claim filed letter today obviously showing $0.00 for weekly UI wages since he did not work. How can he go from disability to unemployment (he is on the "out of work list" with his union and is ready, willing, and able to work.

We have emailed EDD with this ? with a ton of back and forth, called (only to be disconnected over & over). Can someone give us any insight to this!??!

    THANKS SO MUCH

If your husband is able and available to work, he should qualify for unemployment benefits. However, during processing, they consider income from 4 or the last 5 calender quarters to ascertain eligibility and looks like he has not had an income during this phase.

The labor authorities will be the only contact who can give you precise information. Please see if you can visit a local office to settle the matter.
