Can you be fired for know cause? Does the employee have to have a reason?

    1. Sam says:

If the employee was fired due to voluntary reasons such as performance issues or wrong conduct, he/she will not be eligible.

    2. James Newman says:

If you and your state voted for and passed the “Right to work Act”. You Can be fired for anything or any reason without justification even make stuff up. It was Passed in Missouri and then repealed by the people because it gives no protection to employees.
this is what happens when people vote on things without understanding the full scope of an amendment or bill.

      This is my observation
The government takes your money from day one.
Then makes you jump through hoops to get it.It is money you earned. They will make you work for it again. They want you to fail so they can tell you you cant have it. That is why you are getting the run around. God bless the american govrnment

My son lost his job about 2 years ago and received a good severance pay and the dug into his savings. He has always worked and had a job since he was 16. He has been actively looking for a job but with no luck. He has come to the end of his finances and feels it is too late to put in a claim. He is a proud person. Can he still apply?

    1. Martin says:

To be eligible to draw UI benefits, your son should have employment in the last 4-5 calendar quarters.

I have child support coming out of my unemployment, the 40% that is being taken is more than double what it should be. The child support office put a hold on the payments for being too much, it took me 3 trips to the child support office to get that cleared up, now how do I get the 40% reduced to what it should be through unemployment?

    1. Martin says:

Well, you need to be using the same channel to communicate with the authorities and ascertain the scope for reduction.

It was just for a friend who is trying to give me some hours here and there while I still look. He was only able to give me 2 weeks. I didnt claim for those 2 weeks. Now that my time is up, I am still looking for full time. Am I allowed to go back to making claims now?

I tried filing my claim on line but when I tried to get a new PIN because my old one from 2014 had expired, I received this message: “The login credentials you have entered could not be verified. Please contact DEO at 1-800-297-0586 regarding access to your account.” I call the number and it tells me I have to file online and there’s a 2 hour wait on the phone. This happened the last time I tried to file a claim in 2014. Thankfully, my company found a new job for me and I didn’t have to jump through any more hoops. What am I supposed to do now? I can’t file online, I can’t get in touch with anyone by phone. I had also called 800-204-2418. Both lines told me it was going to be a 2 hour wait.

    1. Martin says:

Please see if you can visit the nearest office. This is the only option left.

I would like to know what an adjudication determination means for unemployment and should I be worried?

    1. Martin says:

It means that the first level of claims processing has been referred to an adjudicator to find out facts of the case.

There should be nothing to worry about as long as you have a stand. Its a second level review to resolve a dispute.
