      • This is a ridiculous mess! It is late 2021. My 2020 claim between horrible communication is trying to fault me for documentation that has been sent US mail and thru the portal over and over. Get real. People are getting paid that never filed and the ones who have you try to confuse. Jumping thru hoops and still nothing!

  3. I have tried calling emailing and even sent a hand written letter to the kansas unemployment center. I did finally receive an email back. But you can not reply to it unfortunately they are not accepting emails at this time. I can not get through to any one its been almost two months no pay. Now i received an email 6 days ago informing me if i do not respond and fix my account on Line i may be terminated from my benefits do to the only information that they have on file. but when i try an fix it it says i must call the contact center and as i have spoke with a member who told me on January 15th as i reported i messee up my claim for pua benefits she informed me i didn’t need to fix my claim because no one is getting benefits until the government decided how to make the decisions to distribute the unemployment. Now because of all of this its been a big mess no payments i am out of work due to this pandemic.

  6. lost my job about 7 weeks ago. I went to apply for unemployment and they said there was already a claim. So I filed a fraud report gave them all info they wanted. Every week I spend countless hours trying to get ahold of kdol to file a weekly claim because they have a freeze on my account to clear up the fraud. They said this would only take a week that was 6 weeks ago. My bills are piling up I have 4 children. Is there anything you can do to help me get this cleared up so I can start getting my payments please I’m out of options here.

  8. So i was layed off from a seasonal position when i got cold. Filed in Dec 2020. Was getting my benifits with 0 issue. Now……..system “update.” I reregistered, went through the entire process and now i the system say my claims have yet to be processed. 3 weeks of payments. I have bills to pay and my job wont be back online until the weather warms. Solution? Not from the number on the site. 300 calls a day starting at 0759 monday to friday for last two weeks. All reps are busy with other claimants and the hold queue is full. Im starting to think there is actually no one at the call center and we are calling nothing. I need some answers

  9. I have been trying to call for the past 3 days. I even woke up early this morning to call at 7 am (the time that says you open) and it keeps ending the call before it even starts. We tried to set up an account to file for unemployment benefits, but it won’t let us log back in so we haven’t been able to actually file a claim. I am at my last straw. I am expecting to have my baby any day now and we need help. Who do I talk to? What do I do? If this is how our state treats its people during a time like this, I sure can’t wait to move.

  10. Good luck, I’ve been trying to apply for benefits for more than 4 weeks & have still not got through. I have to file on the phone just because I travel for work into other state’s. Personally that’s ridiculous, I’m going to have to turn in ALL the usual paperwork either way. Basically filing on the phone is next to impossible so we have no income & can see no light ahead

  11. Nearly impossible to reach an unemployment representative just to answer a simple question that’s “Amelia” can not answer for me. I am desperate to get a hold of unemployment, being that my question needs an answer that I am on a deadline for. They were supposed to fix this problem months and months ago and it still causing so much trouble for everybody.

Its the 20th of January and on the 6th they deposited all my funds into a account that is not mine and I have called, emailed, faxed, and requested call backs and no one can help me. I haven’t received going on 3rd consecutive week I had filed as usual altgou I hadn’t recieved benefits ( it was a holiday and website prompted a delay is expected )as I went online to check my claim staus and contact the agency i seen my claim available in my weeks to claim along with I the claim to file the for the concurring week so I filed both and have yet to receive any payments I’ve tried contacting by request callback and phone but wasn’t able to get intouch with anyone except yesterday when a nice young man answered but unfortunately wasnt in the correct department to help me , I understand how busy and frantic things must be at this time and I appreciate all the personal investment the staff is and has put in , is there any way for me to find out what’s going on with my account

    • I am a single mom of 4 and i havent received my unemployment compensation in 3 weeks i spoke to someone who said it was a clerical error tomorrow is thanksgiving what am i suppose to do.

    • Hi Toni. I am in the same situation as you. I utilized their chat option with Amelia. OFC, it asks a couple questions to narrow down the issue(I think I chose payment options-receiving payment) and was connected with an agent who said “Your EB are going into your PEUC claims due to a glitch. I am unable to do anything to fix the issue. All I can do is tell you to contact the call center and request to speak with a claims specialist. ”
      I have called the UE line and keep hearing “All of our agents are busy, the que is full. Visit the website. “

      • I have been calling repeatedly and the lines are always busy and the hold queue is full. Per the system, I am unable to apply online because I have worked outside the state in the last 18 months.

        Have you thought about updating the online system without this 18 months requirement, so you could decrease the number of calls you are getting?

        In the meantime, I’m am not able to get through to even file a claim, so what’s an alternative?

        • I am trying to log in to my benefits account. I made a new one per the new system. It just keeps telling me I’m unable to login after I enter my email. What gives? I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone but no dice. I need money now and I cant even log in to file a weekly claim!

  13. The line has been busy for WEEKS. I filed back in late September/early October. I can’t get into my account because I don’t have a password and had an account YEARS ago. Every time I try to log in or change my password, I get locked out for AN HOUR and have to try again. This is outrageous. I need help. It’s hard to understand how we’ve been in this situation for over 6 months and there still aren’t enough people to field phone calls, nor is there anyone available otherwise. The ‘chat assistant’ is zero help at all. It does nothing. I’m sure I’m just going to be told to ‘call the unemployment center’, but good luck with that. Jeez, Louise, this is so incredibly sad. I’m willing to bet if they wanted money from any of us, they would be moving a lot more quickly and all hands would be on deck.

  14. I received my pandemic money as far as claim status goes but the money did not come have been trying to get ahold of someone to find out were it is you cant email you cant use virtual assist an cant reach the office how do you get this fixed

      • I am unable to login. I am redirected to the kansas.okta.com site, which does not recognize my password. I requested a reset email and text, but got neither. I need to upload some forms by today, but the site has been down for maintenance since Saturday. The phone lines are unreachable as well.

  16. I NEED HELP ON MY CLAIM. I APPLIED ONLINE FOR BENEFITS. I RECEIVED A REPLY THAT I NEEDED TO FILL OUT A FORM- WARN ACT AWARD-CLAIMANT. THIS FORM IS VERY CONFUSING. THERE ARE PARTS THAT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FILL IT OUT. IT ALSO STATES I HAVE SEVEN (7) DAYS TO E-MAIL OR FAX THIS FORM BACK INTO THE OFFICE. I TRIED CALLING INTO SEVERAL LOCATIONS, BUT I COULD NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH ANYONE. (LINE IS ALWAYS BUSY, EXCEPT AFTER HOURS.) I GOT ON THE WEBSITE, HOWEVER THERE IS NO TUTORAL ON HOW TO FILL THIS FORM OUT. WHAT IS THE WARN ACT AWARD? SHOULD I GO TO A LOCAL UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE FOR HELP?

        Please consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity if safe and feasible (you might be required to book an appointment prior to the website).

    • There is no point in going to a local Unemployment Office since they’ll either be unavailable or closed. Please try finding answers to your question on the department’s website.

  17. I have been calling repeatedly for days and the lines are always busy and now that I can get through I’m just disconnected cause all 3 offices are closed. I can’t apply online because I have worked outside the state(Missouri) in the last 18 months. If a can’t apply online and I can’t talk to anyone one the phone what do I do?

      We understand this might be a difficult time for you. We’re anticipating a shortage of staff across unemployment offices due to the massive surge in UI applications considering the pandemic. We advise against calling or visiting the office, as you may not get a response instantly.

      Your state may have activated “Extended Benefits (EB)” authorized by the federal government. We recommend you apply for UI benefits online. For more information, please visit your state’s official Unemployment website.

      • The website will not let me complete a claim. Tells ne to call the contact center. I called 100 times yesterday and im on 70 this morning. Your leaving us in a circus run around and i need money its been 8 weeks.

    • How about extended unemployment benefits? When is Kansas going to extend them. Most states are 26 week but Kansas is only 13 thanks to the former Governor Brownnack

We advise against calling or visiting the office, as you may not get a response. Your state has activated the ‘emergency funding’ program authorized by the federal government. We recommend you to apply for UI benefits online. For more information, please visit your state’s official website.

        • This is zero help. We understand you’re experiencing a shortage, our livelihoods are also experiencing a shortage. My wife lost her job the Friday before Memorial Day and is still not able to contact anyone. This has to change. Figure out some sort of “waiting in line” system.

          Even if it meant it was a three week wait (for example), that would be better than calling or emailing and getting ZERO over, and over, AND OVER, AND OVER again. This has to change – something has to give so you can support the citizens of the state that you’re expected to help.

          Advice? Email a senator/congressman/woman? We don’t know where else to go, she can’t get a job and has gone almost two months now without unemployment benefits.

        • I have been waiting for almost 2 months to get my determination and I get getting the run around! Now I have been trying to call my continuous weekly claim and as normal the line keeps ringing busting! I have been trying to call since last Thursday to get a follow up and since yesterday morning to file my claim. This is very upsetting

  18. I had my adjudication call a week ago. They had not gotten a response from my employer as of then and said he would call me if they did hear from them. When I check my status it says a payment has not been issued due to a question regarding your eligibility. Does this mean I’ve been denied? I still haven’t gotten a letter of determination. In the past it has never taken this long and now it’s been going on for a month without any payments.

      Until you receive an official letter of determination, a decision would have not been made. Please make sure to chase at regular intervals and you can also file an “Appeal” if you’ve been denied wrongfully.

  19. I work full-time at a job (approximately 35 hours a week). The employer has told us they are closing business. I also work part-time at another job around 15 hours a week. Would I be eligible for unemployment?

    • I have been waiting on my unemployment benefits since January of this year. My account was flagged for fraud for unknown reasons. I completed the verification process twice and submitted documents requested via email and in person at the local police department. It is the middle of July and I have not received one benefit since filing! This is ridiculous and this issue needs to be resolved!

    • I was working at modern maintance and the fired me. Jule 10 2019 they said i tried to time in from home because i stayed hom that day. And i didnt i guess this number that was on my bage that looks like a phone numbe r we was trying to reach Are supervisor to .so i diealed. That i thought was a phone # and some recording came on i coulnt real. Hear it . so the next day thats when a lady. Called to ask me y i did that. so i said it was a mistake that i didnt no even no. That was a time in # because we dont even use r pages at all we us a phone that is left on count for all of us to use and i didnt even no we could use r badge to time in never since i been there 7 and half month we never even used our badge they didnt even ever tell us that our badges could time in so it was news to me

        If you were fired due to involuntary reasons, please consider claiming UI benefits until you find a replacement job. Make sure to keep supporting documents handy in case of a dispute.

  20. I had my scheduled phone interview and I thought it was odd that the only thing they said was it was just a curtesy call and they had no further questions. Since that I noticed my check your claim status said, no payment issued denied benefits explanation of determination has been mailed… so that means I was denied right?

  26. I have had all kinds of trouble with trying to submit documents to the contact center, to the point my claim was denied. I went through an appeals hearing and the decision was that I do qualify for unemployment benefits, back-dated to Oct 9th. I have tried to get ahold of the contact center to find out why the claim status is still showing that I am only being paid for one week, but the hold time has been excessive and the system hangs up on me. I filed weekly claims over the phone, waited for the system to confirm the success, and yet those weeks are showing that no weekly claim was filed. Who do I contact when there is no way to get ahold of the contact center? This process has a lot of kinks, and unfortunately it is the taxpayer who gets the short end of the stick. My unemployment claim was simple and straightforward–the employer approved it because I had a reduction of force layoff. I filed everything in a timely manner and yet, due to issues with KDOL’s system, I have never received a payment although I’ve been unemployed since Oct 2, 2016. Now, even after a successful appeal, the system still shows a rejection of payment. It’s sad that nobody seems to care enough to resolve the issues.

      Please explore the option of visiting an Unemployment Office in the vicinity to sort out issues, Face to Face.

    the company i was employed with is closed. I am planning to file for unemployment. I have been offered a job at 10 hours a week. If i take this job may i still get unemployment benefits and if so how much will be reduced?

  28. I am in the middle of a mess! Kansas is crooked. They have came up with every reason to deny my payment and the couple I was actually received they want back. I am part of their reemployment service and have done EVERYTHING they have asked of me including driving 60 miles each way 3 times in 1 week to the workforce center but still every week I get disqualified so I call the contact center and they straight lie to you and say that I will receive the payments but yet still denied. I can’t keep driving to the workforce center much longer since this has gone on since feb and I have only got 3 payments and they want 2 back!! Yes I have filled appeals out the wazoo but nothing ever happens. They would rather we all are homeless and starve so we can’t even file. I lost my job thru no fault of my own and have done everything asked still nothing.

  29. I do not see anywhere in the KS online weekly questions that allows you to address my issue. I can work but have had lifting, sitting and standing restrictions since 2001. At that time I was encouraged to get disability but I refused to do so. So, I can work but can’t find any jobs yet that meet that criteria. I had to leave my professional career for this reason.

  30. Every time I call the claims number it says there is a technical problem. But, when I file my weekly claim via internet it goes through. How can this get fixed? Also, I filed over the phone on 10-19-2015 and have not received anything in the mail stating I’m approved, is this normal? I have seen that my first claim for the week of Oct.24 th was my waiting week though. Well I get anything in the mail?

    • Please try alternate phone numbers available on the official website of the labor dept of your state.

      Initial claim does take a longer time after which it flows smoothly.

  31. I am coming to the end of a contract in wichita and I am eligible for unemployment. My question is can they deny it because they wanted to make an offer and I told them I was only staying the duration of the contract. No official offer has ever been presented.

    • Contract employees are generally not eligible to receive Unemployment Insurance.

      Please check further with the labor authorities in your state by calling them.

Twice now he went to the bank to cash his check and was told there was insufficient funds. My question is, if he leaves his job because of this can he collect unemployment? His employer is expecting him and his other employees to work for free till he can afford to pay them.

    • Generally, voluntary resignation is not considered. However, there can be exception such as your son’s.

      Please ask him to call the labor authorities in your state and apply accordingly.

      However, there will be exceptions. Please ask him to contact the labor authorities in the state and apply accordingly.

  34. I have a determination letter from the state of Kansas saying I am eligible to receive weekly benefits. It was from the end of last October and they have not sent any benefits. I have called repeatedly and kept on hold for a min of 2 hours to over 4 hours each time to be told it is an “IT” problem and they are not able to help. I have been told by the Kansas Workforce center that the state is not paying out benefits to anyone that filed from Oct 1, 2013. There are no phone numbers to the IT, I’ve written several letters, I do not get a response! I need some help! Is this legal???? for a state NOT to pay out benefits?

    • I am not aware of any information where Kansas is not paying out any benefits.See if you can check status online for updates or you may even consider visiting any of the offices in your city/town.

        Thank you for your reply. Kansas does not have any offices which you can go in person. They only have call centers which do not all anyone to visit. I’m at a loss, I’ve scoured for email address etc., to address my problem but have not had any luck. I have a mortgage to pay, and no income for 3 months is insane!   36. I called in last week because I have not received my weekly claims for unemployment yet and I should have 2 claims. The first is for the week ending Oct 26 and the other for Nov 2nd. I was told they sent the funds to Citi who then sends out the credit card. I still haven’t received ANYTHING. Can someone please help me find where my claim is? I was told last week when I called that I should have received it in the mail last week. I need to get this resolved as quickly as possible. Thanks
