The Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System, “Easy Call,” gives user-friendly access to general information concerning services provided by the different offices of the Louisiana Workforce Commission and provides certain services by telephone rather than in person or by mail.
You may call for general information and to find out about your benefits Tuesday through Saturday. No payment information is available on Monday, as claims filed late Friday through Monday are not processed until Monday night.
To file your initial and continued claim, call the “Easy Call” number 1-866-783-5567 (toll-free).
When you can call
There are only certain times you can call the help line. The schedule for calling is based on the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN).
Phone: 1-866-783-5567 Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- If your SSN ends with 0000-2499, your designated call-in day is Monday.
- SSNs ending with 2500-4999 should call on Tuesdays.
- SSNs ending with 5000-7499 have Wednesdays as the designated call-in day.
- SSNs ending with 7500-9999 should call on Thursdays.
- Fridays are open to anyone needing assistance.
Note: When you file a reconsideration, you must have your monetary determination, your Social Security Card, W-2 form, check stubs or any other proof of wages earned, and the name(s) and address(es) of employers that you worked for during the base period of your claim.
If you are disconnected or hang up before the system tells you that your claim has been processed, you will have to call again to file your claim. You will have five seconds to respond to the message, and then the selections will be repeated. If there is no response after the second time, the system will disconnect.
If you get a busy signal when you are trying to file your claims, wait a few minutes and try again.

I live in the state of Alaska. I have only worked in Alaska and, for a few months in ’98, the state of Oklahoma. I have only ever filed for unemployment in the state of Alaska. However, the State of Louisiana is claiming that I owe them overpay of over $6000 and is withholding my pay. I am homeless and penniless due to this. Alaska is 3 hours behind you and every time I actually get put on hold instead of being hung up on, I wait on hold until 5 ‘o’ clock your time, and am immediately cut off. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or the unemployment offices open for walkins or appointments in Covington Louisiana? I need to sit down with someone to explain my situation because I was approved and then never did get any money from the PUA unemployment because everything was messed up from the beginning please help me!
I filed for my weekly certification via telephone, but I did not receive a confirmation number. I called back to certify once again, but it said I had already claimed benefits for the week….but I still have not received payment and the website doesn’t show any acknowledgment of the certification on the claim summary. Please advise.
System previously updated & have not been able to file for my wkly benefits for wk ending 1/30/21. The automated system took me thru answering all questions then where it would normally give me conf # it instead transferred me to call line where it then tells me due to high call volume nobody is available & to call back. Then when I call back system at one point tells me I filed already then when I go to check my status it tells me I have not filed! Is there another # I can call to speak to a person other than the 866 783 5567 cause on that line I can not get thru. Been trying nonstop for 2 days.
Wait, when I certified on Sunday, it said very clearly that I had to file a new claim, as my benefit year was ending. Today, the website says the complete opposite, ie NOT to file a new claim. And now I can’t get through to an actual person because their phone labyrinth just doesn’t allow it. So now I have no idea what to do: withdraw the claim, something else, etc.
i’m having the same exact problem right now and it’s not allowing me to file any claims and i’ve gave them everything they have asked for so i know ur frustration.
idk what to do now…
That one seems to a glitch with the system. Hope they fix it soon.
I have filed back in October I got 4 payment’s then the audit pops up,I completed that and then after I successfully prove identity in the audit I wait a week still nothing. Then again I was told to upload all documents again…now mind you I just completed the audit. I uploaded all documents and still nothing. I’ve called e-mailed And yet still nothing..This is completely unacceptable . No possible reason than they want people to give up and pocket the extra funds for special interest. How could you hold up 300,000 payment to people in hopes of catching scammers.. who is more important… apparently the 5000 scammers instead of hardworking citizens.
The system has lost 3 months of my certifications i was payed for. It also lost my certifications for 12/19- 1/30 2021. I’m owed those weeks and can’t get any response from bat or appeals. I’ve called every day for months, emailed countless times too. Idk what else to do. Can you please help?
I need a number where I can reach an actual person. I have tried for three weeks straight and cannot get a person. Then the phone hangs up after it states you’re too busy!!
Call +1 (225) 610-6522
Did you ever reach them? I am now homeless literally and cant get anyone on the phone and have no idea what to do.
That’s the issue I’m having as well. U ha e 5 weeks of unpaid claims. How’s a person suppose to live? They need to do better.
Michael,
The Unemployment Office might be inundated with pending requests. Please visit the website to find the answers.
Michael,
Please try finding answers online since there might be limited phone support due to the shortage of staffing. You can use the “Resources” or “FAQs” section of the website.
Do you really believe that? I know they are over worked but higher more people since Louisiana does have the overhead of offices we can go to.
Please call the govenors office. Maybe if we all call our Govenor or email him (and he has both a phone # and an email) for his constituents. He will get the general idea if just how bad things are for all of us. Well due to hurricane Laura you will not get your email or call returned within 3 days. (But they will help)
I am trying to reach a person for assistance with my mother’s claims. Today is Monday and the only time to call base on your schedule. I live out of state. My mother has been trying, with no success, to get her back weeks benefits owed since 3/22. She did not get her PUA benefits and she is in need of her funds. The process has been daunting and you sent in circles via that phone tree.
us too – my daughter has been trying since MArch 5th. she is hold for hours and no one ever picks up! she is beside herself and the aniexty if overwhelming.
Ana,
Please consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity if safe and feasible (you might be required to book an appointment online).
Jeff, i have a claim that can’t be changed by anyone except the benefits analysis team. 3 weeks it’s been sitting there and it says my benefits have expired. Nobody at call center can get me connected to BAT and I’ve been sending emails 2-3 times a week. Talked to my Representative and she told me they don’t have a number to BAT but they are able to request once a week? Of course, I was suppose to receive a call on Friday from Reps office but I got no call.
Also, ID. me verification is a problem somehow someone got my personal info and opened an account so I can’t even verify on site. Talk about a mess and yes I received unemployment 2/20/20 until 8/20/20.
Jay
Jay,
We understand your situation. Please consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity if safe and feasible (you might be required to book an appointment prior on the website)
Who can I contact to receive my missing payment
Wendy,
Please call the Claims Center (try during non-peak hours) or check the status/raise a ticket online.
me too have you hot in touch with anyone yet
I have been trying to have them review my case. I get 94 a week and my coworker who made less recieves 107 a week I’ve also tried to add my bank information they refuse to take it online also I would like to know why I have not received the back pay everyone else has and Everytime I call I get hung up on
I feel your frustration. I am owed retro I can’t get through to
talk to anyone except the one time I was told I don’t want to help you and was told F….. You and then hung up on. THIS NEEDS TO STOP …. If we would all stand together and fight for what is ours maybe we could get something done. But if we try to keep doing this ourselves no one is going to help.
try calling your Louisiana State representative, La. Sentor, and La. Govenor John Bel Edwards. They all have phone numbers and they offer you the opportunity for their assistance. I wish you luck bc I’m in a similar situation. Although I haven’t got my problem resolved they are trying their best to help me. Oh you can forget that phone # . And don’t waste your time sending emails. I know they are overwhelmed bc if the pandemic but are State should offer a workforce unemployment office to see and talk to real people. I was surprised to find out Louisiana does not offer that for us.
I’m not surprised at all, this is how screwed up our state is. Been trying and I called every number regardless the parish and can’t get through no matter what. Every damn parish is that overwhelmed. Well with all the people that’s out of work due to this pandemic why don’t they hire some people I mean I’m sure we all can use some work hello.
Cathy,
I can understand your situation. There will be a delay considering the number of applications that are being processed. Please continue chasing the office/check your status online at regular intervals until payments normalize.
I was getting paid regularly until I’d verification email and now I haven’t been paid in 11 weeks and iv done EVERYTHING they’ve asked of me including all documents etc…..
IM RIGHT THERE W YOU BRO, MY WIFE HAS NOT RECEIVED THE 1ST PAYMENT AND SHES BEEN FILING SINCE 4-14-20, I HAVE LOST EVERYTHING AND NOW MY LIGHTS ARE OFF AND WE CANT GET ANYBODY ON THE GODDAMN phone…. I’m scared brother I’m 30 years old w 2 kids and 1 on the way and I literally have 2$ to my name and my state owes me and my wife well over 20,000$ and we can not get in touch w anybody and they give her the run around so much she’s about ready to give up… Someone plz help us please…
David,
Have you tried checking the payment status online? There might e something that caused it to stop.
I’ve filed 14 weeks worth of certifications. I received to monetary determinations, but no decision on my benefits. I know there has been a delay, but after 98 days without work, and I am looking, this is getting rather frustrating. I dont qualify for pandemic coverage-i filed in the middle of july, so I dont understand the hold up and i cant get through to the call center. Ive sent many emails, that have gone ignored.
Whittny,

Have u ever got it taken care of yet… Jw
I have sent emails and been placed on the *urgent* call back list for 4 weeks now, awaiting a response from the Benefit Analysis Team. I have been filing since April 11 and the weeks state In Progress, a representative was able to release the last two weeks prior to me speaking with them in the *file a claim* dept. however they stated I needed someone from the Benefit Analysis Team to release my other weeks. How can I reach the Benefit Analysis Team

Having the same issue here. Would love to just take care of things online but in this case I have to speak to a real person. I got through once but it was the wrong department so she placed me on that same urgent list. That was a week or so ago. Maybe our definitions of urgent aren’t the same.
Tara,
I can understand your situation. There will be a delay considering the number of applications that are being processed. Please continue chasing the office/check your status online at regular intervals until payments normalize.
Tara I have called like 7 times a day no response when I did reach a line that ring they let the call go past their time to get off so (I was just calling and no one to answer )when I call they say the same thing and not a call or anything I have been trying for a month now they should have someone particularly or a couple of people that answers calls in that department this is frustrating!and yes we understand it’s a lot of calls going on but they knew this when the pandemic hit in March this is very very very very sad !!We need help ans we need it now people don’t wanna hear they got a lot yes they do and we are going through a lot homeless and can’t buy food or pay bills
Sam, same issues as Tara, my husband. has been calling every single day for a week. They have his payments “on hold” because it says we filed for benefits from outside of the country when actually it was our VPN. We are unable to reach a human by phone and emails are not responded to. I have not received any payments since July!
James,

Do you really believe that? I know they are over worked but higher more people since Louisiana does have the overhead of offices we can go to.
I have been applying since April and it comes back as zero even though I’ve been working up until the pandemic and my job closed because of covid. I can’t get anyone on the phone and haven’t received any assistance.

And then down below it says :
No outstanding issues been found
Payment in progress status
What shall I do?
What does it mean ?
Did u find out please let me know I have or had the same problem

I have called every day for a week. I have submitted a ticket l have talked to 18 different people. And l have been told something different by each one. It has been 4 weeks. The only thing that changed was that l switched my banking info and then this. The website says there is nothing delaying the payment. The people say they don’t understand what the problem is, and there has been NO further requests for documentation and STILL..lt says In progress for over a month!!!!

When or how do I get w2 from benefits paid in 2019?
Sam,
My wife is in fitness Industry. She is 1099 employee in 2018 she worked part time for business that she did pay some unemployment. I thought since Covid-19 1099 employees should be eligible for unemployment. She signed up and it said she was eligible for 17 dollars a week. What should we do?
My unemployment benefits balance is now 0 and I have searched high and low to find out how to apply for the extended benefits. I cannot find anything except for a pdf that shows how to file a regular claim. I tried filing weekly certifications and it will not let me, I try calling local office its closed, I call the 800 number and cannot get a real person, I have emailed with no response. I dont know where to turn as there is no material or people to talk to and it is super stressful and frustrating.
Jay,
Please check on the Unemployment Office’s website. If there is an extension available, it will be notified.
Kevin,

Bonnie,
You can simply ‘stop’ claiming weekly benefits. That should take care of it.

I have been laid off due to reduction in force. I will receive a lump sum severance. I meet the requirements for unemployment, relative to time on the job and wages. Question- I am eligible for UE benefits, if so, I am immediately eligible, if not , when would I be eligible.
Kathy,
If the severance pay is a one-time payout, please apply right away. Otherwise, please wait until the payout is complete.
Please call me at (337) 706-8846 ext 231. I have some employment positions open.

I have sent you an fax on 9/11/2015. I called the number 1-866-783-5567. Here is my phone number My number is 504-339-0826. Your automation does not let me choose to talk to a live person in which the letter you sent me says I could easily talk to someone personally. I am asking for you to please fix your automation answer machine. I have been out of work for almost 2 months now. If I can not talk to a live person soon I will call Bobby Jindal myself and ask him personally why does the Louisiana Unemployment office does not have a way to talk to a live person. Or I will just record the session.
What’s Bobby Jindal number I need it do u know 3183810817
