Maine Unemployment Weekly Claims

Filing Your Claims by the Internet or Telephone. You cannot file a weekly claim by the Internet or the telephone if you do not have an active claim. If you do not file your claim for the current or previous week in a timely manner, the automated Internet or telephone systems will not accept your claim. You will need to call 1-800-593-7660 to reopen your claim. If your claim is active, you may file your claim for the week that has just ended and/or the previous week on online at; then, under Featured Links, click on File a New or Weekly Unemployment Claim Online, or call 1-800-593-7660 any time after 12:01 AM, Sunday morning.

You will need your PIN number to access this function of our automated systems. Follow all the prompts and wait for the system to confirm that your claim has been accepted. If you log off your computer or hang up the telephone before you receive this confirmation, you will need to begin again.

Filing Your Claims by Mail. Mail your weekly claim card to your UC Claims Center as soon as you can AFTER the Saturday week ending date on the claim card. Use the UC Claims Center addresses listed on the back cover of Benefit Risghts Booklet (Page No-26). It is advantageous to file your claim as soon as possible after that Saturday date.

  1. as a seasonal employee I was told that I have an “exemption” as far as looking for work. I have a back to work date. Do I still file weekly?

  2. how do you actually talk to someone about log in user name and passwords? I can’t file my weekly claims. Tried phone number tried this website can’t resolve anything haven”t received anything!

  3. what happened to my weekly direct deposit BANK SAYS IT DID NOT SHOW UP week ending 2-10-is c2017000000469987 week behind if not mistaken if not week ending 2-18 c2017470000009005 normally is there tuesday am it is not there according to the bank as of 1557 2/21/2017

  4. I think I messed up on phone when filing a claim….at the end of said something about review or interview. And when I call and listen To benifets history of says 0$ for week of October 17, 2016.
    How can I fix it or what does this mean?

  5. Got terminated by my previous employer filed weekly claims has required. Been waiting on determination of benefits and was disqualified. There was no reason why never received any explanation and when I called no one could tell me why. Please explain…..

  6. My bye week ended on April 2, 2016 now the state is saying that no benefits will be paid for the week ending 4/9/2016 I am appealing that DECISION.

    • Ideally, you must receive the card and payment in about 7-10 working days.

    • You would have been approved for a certain number of weeks and if you’ve received that many, it should have ended.

  7. I was filing on the phone and hit a wrong number on the questions how do I fix this they say I will need review I just hit the wrong number

  8. I am applying online right now, I applied early this week to three stores, Michaels Art & Craft Kohls and Tarket. On June 30.

  9. I applied for jobs online but got no response. I tried to make my claim Sunday but it would not let me in.

    • Please keep trying with regard to job applications. Remember,there may be hundreds applying for the same position. You must call them to get an update.

      Call the customer service of the labor dept in your state to check if they lock the system on Sundays.

  10. I thought my filing was up to date. I get messed up sometimes due to getting paid bi-weekly. I have checked to see if there was a balance on my Chase card. there is zero balance. I will file again for the week of May 5-11. Sorry if it appears I’ve been negligent.
