New Hampshire Unemployment Weekly Claims

To claim weekly benefits, file over the Internet on web site www.nhes.nh.gov, click File for Unemployment Benefits box on right side of page. If you do not have access to the internet or need language assistance, visit your local Employment Security Office. The application is available online in Spanish. If you are unable to report to a local office, call 1-800-266-2252 during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm)

This is the actual request for payment of benefits that is made each week. You must file your first continued claim between the first Sunday through Saturday period following the week you open your claim, and every week thereafter that you wish to file for benefits. You may file your Continued Claim any time of the day or night.

All Continued Claims will be for a one-week period only, and must be filed no later than the Saturday following the week being claimed.

When filing your continued claim, you must answer questions about your eligibility and supply all worksearch contacts made during the week you are filing for (“last week”). You will receive a confirmation number when the claim is complete. If you do not receive a confirmation number, your claim was not completed. Visit a NH WORKS office during business hours if you do not receive a confirmation number.

    • I am not sure what confirmation number you’re speaking about. You may have received the details via email/SMS.

  3. I missed filing my claim in time last week, restarted my claim the next day by clicking the restart claim link. I called the NH office because when I went to file this week, instead of a live link, I got this,”You are not required to apply for benefits at this time”. The woman told me this should rectify and to try again later in the week. So, Saturday, I logged on to file, and couldn’t because the claim still had not restarted?? Now ive missed the deadline a second time, this time by no fault of my own, Now what? I cant afford to miss 2 weeks pay!

    • Please speak to a representative from the Unemployment Office (by phone) to get further clarification in this regard.

  4. I don’t know how to restart my unemployment I got laid off on December 23, 2016 had to wait till I got home to get online what do I do just tried to call and phone number says out of order. please help me

    • Strange. Please use previous log-in credentials to get access to your account online. If there are balance weeks left in your account, you should be able to claim.

    • Please wait for about 5-7 business days for determination of benefits.

      You can call the claims center on the phone numbers provided for an update on status.
