Unemployment Insurance Claims Self-Service Options and Call Center 1-877-NM4-MYUI (1-877-664-6984)

If self-service options #1-4 do not meet your needs, select option #5 and follow the prompts. Most of our calls are received on Mondays and Tuesdays. Customers may experience call wait times to speak with a CSR. For a shorter call wait time, it is suggested you call on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday when call volume is lower.  Call center is open from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.

You can complete your initial claim or weekly certification via the web, Sundays from 3 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Mondays through Saturdays from 3 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please allow at least 30 minutes to file an online claim prior to system down time.

Weekly certification via the toll-free telephone system is only available Monday through Saturday.

  1. I honestly don’t think they care, they have invented this system intentionally so no can get through. I hope to god we don’t start having shootings here too, this is intentionally done to set people off. and the department doesn’t seem to care. but hey keep calling the switch boards that been turned off for the citizens, maybe we should all go bat shit crazy to prove our points to the unemployment people that decided to block all communication…

    No voicemails, no nothing no emails how do you do your jobs? People are starving and going homeless and all we get is a one sided voicemail- this is so wrong I’ve called over 110 times since 7 am! Is there anyone there that is at work is there any way to get help I mean real help not just a voicemail I’ve been trying to get through for months then gave up because you people messed up on my taxe info, I cant believe no one has sued for this. Threes no hope, no help and you people don’t seem to care- to send emails back saying to call or visit the site when all communication is blocked intentionally so people cant get help- This is very wrong! posting links to the same site that doesn’t work, we cant even email people!

  3. My husband has been waiting since November one of the employments were deemed eligible another ineligible and his self employment still pending yet nothing has ever been mailed to us. His payments have been on hold since December 2nd and I am greeting like they will never approve or deny his claim so we can move forward and either receive help or try one of the other programs and I feel this is intentional so they don’t have to pay him. He received his card a week after filing and yet nothing has progressed in his claim. there is never an answer on the call line and it hangs up every attempt. I honestly think this is a deliberate tactic they are using and being in the lowest income bracket this has been entirely too stressful unhelpful and discouraging.

  4. When I finally got through to UI, I was put on hold and was given the option to be called back instead of waiting on hold. I waited 15 minutes, turned all my notifications/ringer on, and disabled anything that would have allowed the call to be sent to voicemail. The UI Operations Center sent the call straight to voicemail and left a message saying they missed me… when they did it on purpose. I definitely understand and appreciate the amount of calls that UI Op. Center is receiving at the moment. I get that they are swamped. But I called 47 times today and honestly that time would have been better spent actually on the job search :( Just needed to vent.

I’ve been calling for the last three weeks for supervisor to call me back, the first one being the week of New Years, and no one called me back; going on Week three, requesting a call back for supervisor/higher ups to call me so i can mention that I am still getting overpayment status and not getting paid, even though there is no overpay. I’ve made calls on Tuesdays, got a call back, for those pesky questions as to messed up password, etc, just to find out they don’t know why I’m getting an overpaid status; after Tuesday, I’m told 72 hours i should get a call, well, I’ve waiting several days for a reply. Every time I call, I get the “all operators are busy”, but all I need to do is find out about my “overpayment status”, which even the others don’t know why.

  6. I have been calling the customer service line for weeks now, I still haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone. I am so frustrated, update your systems where you can be placed on hold, until someone is available instead of disconnecting the call and us constantly having to call back to back to back.

    • I have been calling for over a month now and not single person got back to me. the website isn’t useful at all for the questions I have and I know i’m not the only one. the question icon to ask for help is useless, it only comprehends 3 types of questions and even then not very helpful for anything. I have needed help with 2 of my claims due to wrong information being submitted

      • Unbelievable – due to COVID, you can’t go to the office and I’ve tried like everyone else to get a hold of someone for weeks. This is disgusting and someone may go postal soon. This is not okay. This place is a disastrous shot show.

      • My husband and I have been calling for 3 months now and have yet to talk to a person! Everything is completely filled out we received his debit card and status is active however there is no money on it! And no one will call us so we can figure out what step to do next! Also my husband was working out of state so we can’t go to an office to speak with anyone!

          The Unemployment Office might be inundated with pending requests. Please consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity if safe and feasible.

      • My son needs help with his claim and we have been calling for weeks trying to get through to customer service but get the same recording any time of day,we have sent emails which wasn’t helpful either and no one is working here in town and our workforce.so has everyone quit working for the unemployment department??

  7. Good morning, I have an active , eligible claim . I am certifying weekly, I do owe for overpayment. Will my weekly benefits resume once this debt is paid?

    • Funny how about 80% of us who recieved unemployment got overpayments. I dont think they have a clue. And worst part is wait until you file taxes. I usually get back 6000 to 8000 but because i got unemployment it put me in a higher tax bracket plus now i owe federal 280 and i owe 340 to state. So they are re couping every dime they gave us. So its our money we have paid into it so im still trying to figure out whats going on

      • Can’t get one issue resolved. Had an issue with ID verification, took care of it promptly and haven’t got a check since. It’s been since 2/21 since I’ve gotten benefits. I did what they asked and it opened the door to a bunch of BS. Can’t get thru to anyone..

  8. I am owed back payments. When I login to the system and go to the Payment History section I noted that not all of my weeks were paid. When I clicked on the Payment ID number for them there is a link that says Request Replacement Payment. When I try to click it, however, it doesn’t work. It’s a hyperlink but the cursor doesn’t allow me to select it. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe using the wrong browser? I use Firefox.

      • Hello, I’ve filled a claim and its saying I have zero funds available. I work for a non profit business that closed due to covid 19. My Employer insists for me to keep trying. I’ve been with this bussiness for 11 years.. Is the PUA ACT gonna take place soon? Or I’m I just wasting my time?? Thanks

  9. Wen I’m done answering the questions in the beginning of the weekly certification there is no next bottom wat do I do ?

      There should a “Submit” or a different button that denotes the same meaning. Please look up for it or call the Claims Center for further instructions.

      • I have the same problem. When I’m done answering the questions in the beginning of the weekly certification there is no next button or submit button. There is only a home button, when I click it, the page returned to the personal address verfication page.if you chose confirm button, the page went back to a same weekly certification page with no next button again. Also the weekly certification page is different than last week. I think the system may have a problem! Please tell us how to do the weekly certification for the week of 09/03 to 09/09!

  11. I am having serious difficulty certifying my weekly claim over the web. Would you please let me know, step by step, how to do so. When I enter the page, after I log in, there is all kind of information, but there is no one single link to weekly certification. I also tried to certify over the telephone, but I received a message that the system is unable to help me with my certification. Help please?

  12. Am trying to certify. I am employed with Sodexo and have been layed off since Aug 8th.. wenesday 2013..I need to recieve my benefits Asap. I don’t know what I am doing incorrectly on cite . I have called several times for the automated service and cannot get thru. Can you please call me and help my contact is
