  1. Listen, this is the worst state in the country to collect unemployment. I’ve been laid off since 11/15 and haven’t received a check yet. I’m told that my employer has responded and it’s under pending review by the adjudicator since last Thursday. When I asked how does that process work, I was told first come first serve! Really????? They are playing with people livelihood and this is absolutely absurd! I’ve written the legislator and his reply was, oh my wife filed and it took her x amount of weeks… the key word is “your wife,” I’m single and no one provides anything for me. I’m entitled to unemployment and shouldn’t have to go through all of this to collect my funds. I’m looking at moving out of this state to somewhere that has better laws as it relates to benefits for US citizens.

  2. Would I need to go to a DES office to find out what the active issue is on my claim? There is not explanation on the letter sent to me or on my online account. I have been on hold for hours day after day. I filed 2 weeks ago.

    1. Alexis,

if you’re trying to contact the DES over phone/online without any response, you may have to consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity.

  3. As someone previously stated I have been calling day after day on hold for hours . I have an active issue and the issue is not stated online nor on the website. I have filled everything out but I do not know what the “KEYWORD” is in order to see what is out there. I cannot file for unemployment benefits does this mean I cannot us this site
