My company lost its contract. The new company wants me to drive over 45 miles away from home and take a $20,000 per year pay cut.  Can I tell them no; then file unemployment?

Call the unemployment office first.  They can not give you a final decision until you actually file a claim for determination, but they can tell you what you potentially qualify for and how your quitting would may be viewed.
