I had a heart attack on May 6th of this year.  I had only been on my job as a permanent employee since April 8.  Per doctors orders I will not be able to go back to work until the end of July beginning of August provided things go as planned.  Can I collect any type of benefit to help me get through this crisis monetarily?  I live in Jacksonville, Florida.  I help a previous position with a company for 7 years and could not collect UIC because I was receiving severance.  Before my severance ended I found the job I am currently working.  If the answer is yes, where do I go and what do I do to facilitate the UIC quick fast and in a hurry!

You must be able to work - not necessarily the job you had but some type of work to be eligible.
