I have been receiving unemployment compensation for a few months now in Washington, DC. If I move to a state about 600 miles away and look for work there exclusively, do I give up the DC payments? I can submit weekly claim forms on-line from South Carolina and will keep-up the required documentation.

Generally, its advised to file paperwork with the state where you last worked . Looks like you are permanently relocating to SC.

Contact either of the state's UI department(Washington or South Carolina)  to ascertain where you should be filing from in the future.
