I have been working from home for the past two years which has been a God-send since I am the primary care giver for my elderly mother who cannot be left alone for more than an hour or so at a time.  I have just found out that my work from home status may be in jeopardy requiring me to return to the office full time starting in January.  Professional in-home care will cost more than my current hourly wage.  Will I qualify for unemployment benefits in Colorado if I am forced to quit my job to take care of my mother?

This is a tricky situation. I understand the tough times you must be passing through.

First of all, try to convince your employer about the situation.Make them understand the need for you to work form home and the expenses involved in contracting a professional home care.

If things don't work your way and decide to move out(which I hope is not the situation), please contact the Colorado UI office on the numbers below for guidance on eligibility. The state also offers assistance on finding suitable employment.
