I've been interning with company for almost a year and my contract was up on 12/31. Originally I was told it could not be renewed, but then later (after they realized they really needed me) they said it could be extended. Because of an uncomfortable work environment, I decided not to renew. I've been looking for other jobs, but can I collect unemployrment until I find something else?

You should be eligible for UI assuming that you have been interning with this company for close to an year now.

If you decide to leave and do not find employment soon, please go ahead and file for UI compensation.
