I live in PA. My job was eliminated. I filed for PA Unemployment Compensation immediately, but I received two months severance pay, so I was unable to collect the UE until the severance was finished. Question: Will I receive six months of UE compensation beginning with that first UE check, or am I at a financial loss because the six months are counted starting with the day I filed, which means I would receive only four months of UE compensation?

It should be a duration from the time you received  the first UI payment.

Please call up the claims dept to confirm the same.
