Little by little my work (medical transcription) has been sent offshore to India.  The work that comes back that I am supposed to "edit" is a mess.  I could have done it correctly and more efficiently on my own.  My salary is now split 4 or 5 ways among Indians (subcontinent, not Native Americans) and myself.  I am unable to find any other work, cannot even get a job interview.  I believe it is because of the level of my education (high), my race (white), and my age (over 50) that I am unable to find any other kind of work or even get a job interview.  It seems like I may not qualify for benefits, while the USA okayed medical transcription to go offshore.  Indians (the subcontinent) are not consumers of United States healthcare system nor do they pay into it.  Why should they be doing medical transcription transcription for US hospitals?  They should not.  It's that simple.  US medical transcription work should be done in the USA by US citizens.

You can perhaps look at mentoring those working in India with your experience. I am sure it will help them.

Outsourcing is a way of life in the US and other European countries and one cant do much about it.
