Why is the phone always busy ?
Kacie,
Please try finding answers online since there might be limited phone support due to the shortage of staffing.
I have been calling for the last 3 and a half weeks and every time no matter time of day, the automated receptionist states no one is available to take my call; then proceeds to give the office hours they are available, then hangs up on me.
I filed a new claim Dec 30th, received an auto-email that my claim was received, and have not received anything by email or mail since.
*I am calling in only during the times given that an agent will be available to take my call.
Please help!
Angela,
Have you checked your claim status on the internet? Here’s where you can find all the help – http://www.dlt.ri.gov/ui/
I went to the link you gave. It is just to the main unemployment website. I do not see where to check a claim status there. Only the “unemployment payment system” link lets me enter and verify my personal info, pin, BYE code etc…, then states I cannot file for payment benefits online and to call the number I cannot get an agent on. Where on the website and how do I check a claim status. Also, if it still pending, do I just continue to wait with no verbal direction from the department? **I still have not received any paperwork, letters or emails since 12/29 when I refiled.
Angela,
If you’ve tried both phone and online and seeing no response, please consider the option of visiting an office in the vicinity, if feasible.
My hours have been cut in half by my employer through no fault of mine. There is a possibility of returning to full time next year. Can I apply for unemployment? If yes, is there a specific form for that circumstance? Thank you-
Deborah,
Please note you can be eligible to claim partial UI benefits until full-hours are restored. Please consider applying.
I received a call from Rachel asking for a copy of my severance amount. I had faxed it in earlier in the day. I just want to make sure you received it.
Debra,
Please note this is a private forum and we do not have access to your claim file. Please call the Claims Center to make sure they’ve received your documents.
What is the BYE code?
I am attempting retirement. Was told it can be retroactive Jan 1 st if state of ri permits me to do this even if I have received unemployment. Apparently is available in some states I have been unsuccessful in reaching you.
Kathie,
Please note this is a private forum. I did not quite understand your question. Please elaborate.
