  1. I was terminated for looking at a website that lists offenders. I had been with my company for 16 years, and this was my first offense. Others have done the same thing and were not punished. Because I had to admit I used the site, I was honest; I didn’t realize what I did was wrong. May I file for unemployment benefits?

    • Bonnie,

Unfortunately, voluntary reasons such as violation of company policies are not considered. You may want to still call the Unemployment Office and inquire about your prospects.

  2. I left my job for “Good Reason”. I had an employment contract that had terms where if my responsibilities were changed on me without my consent, I could resign and be
paid a severance. Am I eligible for VA Unemployment (my company paid in)

    • If you have written proof that shows the “Contract Terms”, it would add weight age to your UI application.Otherwise you are eligible to apply for Unemployment compensation, provided you satisfy all other conditions.

  3. why is the online application so hard to find and sign in? it says my account can not be validated at this time, and there is no 24 hour number to call for web sign in help.
